You learn more when your the dumbest person in the room.
Said Someone…
Hive, a gathering place.
I think being here is like being surrounded by smart people at a party.
I read somewhere that you learn more when your the dumbest person in the room, then if your the smartest.
I think this statement drips in self-depreciating humor and intent. But the point is well made. When your the expert in the room people are picking your brain an American idiom meaning you become the source of knowledge for others, but learn nothing yourself.
So as flattering as it may be, it does nothing to increase your knowledge in this space. Hive
Engagement
But being active on Hive, and I mean really active, as in reading posts and asking questions, plus leaving comments stating your opinions and understanding of things. And doing this in a public forum like the comment section of a post, or in the general section of discord means you are telling everyone what you know and how you think things work.
That’s risky because it allows people to tell you what they think and if they agree or disagree with you. It leaves you open to both praise and criticism. I know not everyone is ready for that or wants that… but that’s like playing with other kids on the school playground. We all need to learn how to do it effectively, and deal with the range of personality types. Engagement
Networking
In addition to the interpersonal skills education, we also learn many technical details and logistical details of how things work. I honestly believe that reading articles here is frequently a learning experience.
I have my favorite authors for technical stuff. Also favorites for logistical stuff and others for artistic poise or graphics prowess. I read, comment, praise and copy their styles and use it to shape my own work. Networking
Hive + Engagement + Networking
- I guess surrounding yourself with smart people, engaging with them and networking with them … to pick their brain might be a type of deliberate strategy to become the best version of ourselves.
An example…
Leofinance is a good example of this environmentally influenced evolutionary process. I think Khal started out with a clear idea of what he wanted to build here. But as the cryptocurrency neighborhood changed, he had to change his plan, and even move out of a familiar neighborhood to give his project a chance to grow.
Perhaps we all need to be ready to do the same thing. To move outside our comfort zone and surround ourselves with other brains, to engage, to interact and evolve.
The End… for now.

I would have to agree. All you have to do is listen and see if it fits your strategy. Having an open mind is enough if you learn.

Very true

I'm always the dumbest. When I'm the smartest I run!

LOL 😅

Facts I don't want to be the smartest in the room. Everyone specializes in something or many things and you can learn a TON from them quickly from the years of research, trial and error ect they have done over that time. It's like compressing 5+ years into a single conversation.

Exactly my thoughts too!
Definitely the biggest perk of engagement is shared knowledge!

Ya that is what I keep doing everyday, This is not allow me to know more people and become good in engagement but also made me gain more info about crypto and different topics by reading posts and asking in comments what I did not understand.

It's hard to be smart because there will be people still smarter. lol
Anyway, yeah engaging is the best because it feels like you'll suddenly become a student by learning other people's posts.
That strategy should work
