This node running on phones was a hyped topic 2-3 years ago. I remember, any of the manufacturer even made phone for btc node running. If i remember well, even Ethereum had something like this. or just light? not sure. (and i don't know much about it) but it never really went big, or i missed it. (I don't see any revolutionary in it.)
I remember Ethereal being small enough to run on a phone or tablet, and it was supposed to democratize the ability to mine Ethereal, but it was combined with a move to proof of stake and earning by staking a large amount of ETH, so it didn't democratize ETH, it centralized it further.
I think something substantial has occurred with VSC:
I just remember, 2+ years ago the vsc thingy was advertised the same way. And what happened in practice, now that it is more or less ready? pretty much nothing
I wrote a post on it joining with V4V.APP to allow point of sale purchase of goods with Hive/HBD via a transformation of Hive for Bitcoin via Lightning, so people could buy stuff with their Hive anywhere Bitcoin is accepted.
Just searched for it. It was the HTC Exodus 1 in 2019. (Even earlier than I remember.)
It was advertised with btc node running opportunity - so I guess, new ones can do the same. (The HTC Desire 22 pro was in 2022 - so maybe I remember for that, I suppose, that can do the same.) I just remember, the marketing part, and hype was big compared to tiny result, it didn't spread wildly at all.
I guess, you know about the Solana Saga - I don't know, possible to run a node on it, just my common sense says that, it should.
Also SUI people were talking about some kind of phone, and making transactions (so potentially good for node running, too) without internet, just by radio waves. (maybe was 2 different things, once again, i don't really follow this topic, but heard, read about it in several places in the last few years.)
