Senator Elizabeth Warren is warning against Warner Bros potentially buying Paramount saying it would create dangerous media consolidation, the merger talks have been going on for a while with Warner Bros Discovery looking to acquire Paramount Global which would combine massive entertainment libraries and streaming services, Warren argues this kind of consolidation hurts competition and gives too much power to one company controlling what people watch, the entertainment industry has seen tons of mergers lately with Disney buying Fox and Discovery merging with Warner Bros, if this Paramount deal goes through it would mean even fewer companies controlling most of what we see on screens which is pretty concerning for content diversity and competition.
