Welcome to Derry is getting crazy good reviews before it even drops on HBO October 26 and there are five solid reasons why critics love this It prequel, the show nails connections to Stephen Kings wider universe especially bringing in Dick Hallorann from The Shining, makes the adult characters actually interesting unlike It Chapter Two which focused too much on the kids, has solid performances especially Chris Chalk as Hallorann and the young cast handling emotional depth, expands the It mythology and Pennywise origins in ways that actually work for a planned three season run, and Bill Skarsgard returns as Pennywise who doesnt show up right away but is terrifying as always when he does plus the show gets surprisingly bloody and graphic.
