I used Dtube years ago and it was very disappointing. I used it earlier this year and it wasn't great. I used the posting YouTube link function but it didn't work great. I could view the video on Hive but not on DTube. I have only one video I can view directly on DTube; it was posted a year ago. That isn't great either as all the recommended videos on that page are porn. The website doesn't seem to allow me to update my profile. I can't view the airdropped coins either. It doesn't matter how their economy operates if the user experience isn't any good it won't attract users.

Dtube did have issues in the past but it seems to be working right now. Im not seeing any porn and you claim the airdrop from the bell icon.

Sounds like a different DTube to the one I'm accessing.
This is my only video that appears on DTube, lots of recommended porn.

The bell icon is a notification icon with notifications from over a year ago.
Here is my channel, it doesn't allow me to change anything on it.
I haven't been making that many videos recently. When I do, I'd choose 3Speak over DTube. Using DTube is just throwing 10% of the payout away.

You can post on Dtube without posting on HIVE or Steem. Just log out of your hive account.
It seems to work a little better without being logged into Hive but there isn't much I can do without bandwidth. I don't have any interest in buying DTube Coins.
I logged into DTube with my Steem account and I have a DTube Coin airdrop in my notifications. I tried to claim it but it goes to Steem Keychain which isn't working.
Keychain worked for me. Try asking in their discord
