I doubt the future is about to have multiple revenue streams for everyone, i would say for some who are resourceful, and can think out of the box its an option, a quite good option to make their independence, since these streams can generate the equivalent of the main income source, or even more.
It is also important to mention everywhere around the globe there are people who have 2nd and even 3rd jobs but all even the main pays poorly, for them its not an option, but a must and the chances for them to make steps toward their financial independence is negligible.
