This is a really good point on multiple vectors.
Once the snowball gets rolling it will be impossible to keep up.
It will only take one breakthrough app before we have to consider if increasing the blocksize is a viable option.

I have seen this one being talked about before but I think the main launch was on WAX. It did get moved over to Hive somewhat I think afterward so I am not surprised that you didn't hear much about it because I have only seen 1 or 2 people talk about that project.
