This is something we have mentioned a number of times over the last few months.
LEO is a digital platform. Therefore, it follows all characteristics contained therein. It is a very important concept to internalize.
Why? Because this is going to be worth trillions. It is estimated that, by 2027, digital platform spending will total $3.9 trillion. In other words, we are dealing with a very large pie.
Web 3.0 is going to want to throw its hat in the ring. This is something that is crucial if it is going to be a disruptive force.
With Leo, we have the base foundation being constructed.

Digital Platform Science
There is a science to all this. After 30 years of the Internet, we can safely say that a lot of what we discuss surrounding this is verified multiple times, across many of the largest platforms.
Basically, everyone is doing something similar.
Why? Here we will not get complicated: the answer is because it works.
So what is a digital platform.
To provide insight, it is best to mention examples. Here we are looking at:
- social media channels
- Online marketplaces
- Crowdsourcing websites and apps
This is not the complete list. The most powerful platforms will incorporate many different aspects into it. In fact, the idea is to keep adding more layers, thus enhancing the power structure of the platform.
Everything that is added has the potential to increase the value of the platform. This is another basic concept: digital platforms capture all value, no matter how incremental, and spread them throughout the entire platform.
What this means is that the building of platforms is rather scientific. The goal is simply to increase the quantity and quality of interactions. This means adding more things for users to engage with, causing a hive effect, which ultimately leads to more people getting involved.
Of course, this could be taking on a different connotation as AI enters the picture. This will likely only enhance what we are discussing.
Leo as a Platform
It is crucial that we not look at Leo as a "web3 Twitter" or anything like that. It is a digital platform, thus operating under some proven principles.
The key is going to see how many people understand this and start to build based upon this insight.
At the same time, the development team also have to concentrate its efforts on those which focus upon achieving the goal above. Again, AI could really enhance the platform in a big way.
Since there is a built in payment system, being tied to Hive, we can see how the list of examples can include commerce. One area we already see it in practice is with Leo Premium. This is really only the tip of the iceberg.
Bringing buyers and sellers together is a concept that has to be explored. It is, after all, one of the most common utility for digital platforms. Amazon is the company that mastered this. However, we cannot overlook Google, Facebook, and Apple. All have their own form of commercial activities taking place on their platforms.
Leo is something that has to leverage this. Here is where the building comes from. Even the most basic of commercial activity can have a profound effect. It is important to remember that nothing is lost on digital platforms.
Any value that is input is filtered through. Of course, the reverse is also true.
