Very true. Who would of imagined we went from horses carrying carts to cars.

I'm waiting for the flying cars, but I'll be happy with the jet pack James Bond (Sean Connery) used in You Only Live Twice (1967).

I don't think flying cars will be mainstream...gravity hurts so what happens when something falls?

Flying cars make sense in a different world. The world as it is today can't handle flying cars the way it can road cars. Besides, how do the cars land? Cars as planes need runways, and cars as helicopters need "personal space" away from other cars as helicopters.
And there is gravity,as you said.

Yes, I think they can make maglev tracks up in the sky for faster travel. Won't be cheap though.

Yeah well sometimes the image of the future isnt really what it turns out to be.
Personally I prefer the "Replicator" from Star Trek. That will make the production of anything inexpensive and near instant.

I'm not ready for Star Trek-style transporters, but replicators for food would be awesome. We may be on the road to that and other things with 3D printers. It would be nice for us to use technology from Stargate to travel across vast stretches of space.

Molecular assemblers and carbon nanofactories are even more interesting.
3-D printing is going to be a phase in the process. Things are moving quickly.

3-D printing is definitely an early step in the evolution of replication technology. One good use for it these days is to compensate for the supply chain crunch by printing parts that are needed on a small scale, especially if the parts aren't easy to acquire to begin with.

I vote for flying cars too. But there would be too much traffic for the poor birds.
On independence day you can see hundreds of kite flying in the sky. Flying cards would be even worse for them.

It is like the old saying, if you asked people what they wanted 110 years ago, they would have said faster horses.

That's before they learned about horsepower.

I have not watched the show. Is it good? I might have a look at it today.
