Very interesting article about a company bringing out a photonic super computer. This is supposedly 10x faster than NVIDIA's AI chips. Compared to other supercomputers, it also uses 90% less energy.

This is not general purpose but it is suited to run neural networks, something that is vital for cloud computer centers.

The article states that it might have either kickstarted Moore's Law or obliterated it.

Yea it is amazing. I wonder if we will start to see these in our cellphones or labtops soon.

I wouldnt think so. They are specialized chips for AI and for supercomputers to run large neural networks. You cant run Windows or Android on them.
