Frankly, I'm making fun of those days when everyone was constantly pitting Yankees vs. Mets. Even though it's still happening, it's a relic in my memory now!
No Judge or no Alonso in this past series and both teams are nowhere near the top of the standings so yes lackluster even to say the least.
Of course, that's why I must stay blindly loyal! Not because of their standings, but because I stand with them.

They are called umpires in baseball.
There is instant replay. A team gets 1 replay contesting. If they are wrong, they lose the challenge. If right and call overturned, they retain the challenge.

It is like the NY Giants. When the SF Giants were in NY (before 1958) they were there with the NY Giants (football) team.

Most are dead. They moved after the 1957 season.
The ones that remain arent Yankee fans. Back then there was no interleague play. So if you were a NL fan, you wouldnt become a fan of the Yankees.
The Mets came around in 1962, a NL team, and filled the void. My dad was a Brooklyn Dodger fan and had no team until the Mets came around. Still a fan to this day.

Going to be hard to catch the Braves but they have to start winning and let the rest take care of itself.
With the extra wild card spot it's just what you said. Keep winning and it will all work out. Must win every series until they run into a buzzsaw like the Braves. Unfortunately, the Marlins are looking real good and Phils are heating up.
#marlins will fade in my opinion. Not built for the long term IMO. The Phils are like the Mets....all potential. Can go on a run or can flail.
