They are called umpires in baseball.
There is instant replay. A team gets 1 replay contesting. If they are wrong, they lose the challenge. If right and call overturned, they retain the challenge.
I see. I didn't think it was a thing because I haven't seen it yet but perhaps I didnt pay attention or maybe its just rare
A lot changed in the rules in the last 10 years. Managers use to argue with umpires all the time.
