Look at the banks and the hundreds of billions they paid in fines since the GFC. It is nothing more than a cost of doing business.
Make $3 billion and pay a $500 million or $1 billion fine.
At the end of the day for big companies and banks fines are insignificants as long as they can continue do business as usual. only selected and sure wins get to see courts. I wonder does the head of SEC gets a bonus by the fines??
I am not sure if he gets bonuses for fines.
But he does have a nice job waiting for him at Goldman Sachs or some other Wall Street bank. It is a revolving door there.
