It could if the witnesses want to increase it. At the same time, we need to make sure the HBD doesn't go past 10% of HIVE's marketcap.

If it hits 10% of the marketcap of HIVE, it stops printing HBD.

It is a safeguard to not let the system be overwhelmed with debt. If the price of Hive skyrockets, that could allow for the creation of a lot of HBD.

Fortunately, the market cap of Hive is increasing with the price drifting higher.

I have a feeling it will. The witnesses are going to move it up at some point. My guess is we see 12% next.
No idea when that will happen though.

Need to get some 14% or 15% ones in there. I believe it is the medium average of the top 20 witnesses.
