you gotta season it 1 hour before hand. otherwise you just season the pan. the key is to get the pan hot as fuck to start the crust, then lower temp and baste with butter. not hard but some people just can't do it.

People often don't pay attention to the crust. It needs to caramelize. Man now I'm getting hungry again. I had such a disappointing steak earlier. Felt bad about hating it so much lol
