My Successful Visits to the Hive Wishing Well …

A Wish Comes True

Four days ago, I was drafting an email to a colleague (a fellow faculty member who happens to be an avid twitter user) about the power of #Hive with its #decentralized alternatives to #reddit and #YouTube. However, I was lamenting in the email about the need for a decentralized alternative to #twitter.

Before I sent the email, I decided to do a quick search to see if any progress might already be underway with regard to development of a twitter-alternative. During that search, I found D.Buzz and was blown away by the fact that my wish had already come true (even before I had asked it)!

I went back to my email client to add in this new news and discovered that I had accidentally already hit ‘Send’. So, I quickly drafted an addendum email explaining how I had been wrong, and that a decentralized twitter alternative was ALREADY up and running. (I did inform my colleague that D.Buzz does not appear to handle threads at this point -- NOTE to D.Buzz dev’s: this particular colleague uses twitter threads extensively, so hopefully that feature will be available soon; I’m not sure he will make the switch until then, unless twitter deplatforms his many thousands of followers before then).

Then, Yet Another Wish Came True

A few days ago, I began drafting a new post for the Expand the Hive community, detailing my newbie observations about the best ways to potentially grow the Hive user base (that post is just about ready to publish -- stay tuned). While working through those thoughts, I ended up with what I viewed as a major ‘wish’ to improve the Hive ecosystem (a one-stop feature shop that would enable quick and seamless creation of completely new tokenized front-ends similar to LeoFinance). A day or so after I came up with that ‘wish’ (but had not yet made it public), @aggroed graciously invited me to join him on Discord to discuss tokens and hive-engine. During that conversation, I discovered that yet another ‘wish’ of mine had also been granted before I even asked.

I am still finalizing my Expand the Hive post referred to above, but wanted to go ahead and share my amazing experiences thus far at the Hive Wishing Well.

Thanks Dev’s for already granting my first two wishes at the Hive Wishing Well!

Hive has been long in the making and there are apps even I'm not aware of :)
For now small but it takes only a bit to take off.

On the twitter alternative, dBuzz is great and working. LeoFinance are developing one as well for months now, and that one should come up in a few weeks, hopefully with great UI, simple onboarding and even faster posting and commenting operations.

@trostparadox

There is so much build around hive already it’s gonna take some time to explore the entire network...

You may take a look to post by @theycallmedan
