I'll be adding some goldbacks to the stack in the coming days so I figured to do a photo shoot of the current state of stack, it's been a while since the last time I did a proper one 😆
In total we have
- 8 x 1 gbs
- 3 x 5 gbs
- 2 x 10 gbs
- 1 Silver GB
And I guess an official GB wallet 😅
There used to be a half GB in the mix as well, but I ended gifting it to a good friend.
With current prices of gold and gbs, there is approximately 250$ worth of goldbacks in the photos above, or about 125$ worth of gold. Nothing epic, but it's a good start.
Eventually I'd like to own 100 in GB currency, slowly getting there :)

What are goldbacks?
Here's a quick run down if you have no idea what goldbacks are:
First introduced in 2019, Goldbacks aim to provide a private, inflation-resistant alternative to fiat money. Unlike traditional gold coins, they are spendable in small amounts, making them more practical for daily use. They hold intrinsic value based on their 24k gold content sealed within a polymer for durability.
As we talk, there is a small yet ongrowing network of businesses in several states of US that accept them for trade.

You can sell em for services or otc. I believe the company also accepts them!
Unfortunately they are not available to Europe 😭
For way less than they cost. The premium is insane! Fun to collect and I got a bunch myself but not ideal for real functionality use.

Goldbacks, haaa... finally, a way to carry actual money without feeling like a pirate hodling a treasure chest. Now if only vending machines would take them 🤔 but I probably wouldn't use it in the vending machine.
