Everyone knew that Dogecoin would dump after SNL, no matter what. This was a typical situation in which each coin dumps. To be honest, they made fun of it and it wasn't at all a "pump dogecoin" situation. But still, I feel like he had fun with it, but still - the fact that Dogecoin got featured on one of the most important talkshows in the world, is still a big think. And since then, the price has also mostly recovered.

So, it wasn't at all as bad as people might think... :)

Yeah, I kinda agree. However, in overall, I think Musk did wrong because he could have done something much more interesting to try to promote Dogecoin.

But, I think it is important to understand that Elon Musk isn't there really to promote Dogecoin. He is simply having fun with the coin... that is why he can actually says whatever he wants to say, because he has no contract with the Dogecoin team, nor any obligation. He just tweets and says whatever he wants to, whenever he wants to... that is a big part of the game here!
