Anyone who follows the news about the world of cryptocurrencies more closely, certainly already knows all the influence that the voice of billionaire Elon Musk has on these assets that drive the digital cryptocurrency market, especially Dogecoin. His "touch of midas" (messages on Twitter), was one of the main responsible for the high appreciation of what is still considered by many people as a project without much value in the long term.
Dogecoin was born out of a meme and maybe that was a bad start. However, a constant appreciation in its market value has changed this scenario (and this brings hope that the meme will be taken more seriously by large investors). Musk's name is automatically associated with Dogecoin, because he is a project enthusiast and one of its biggest advocates against those investors who are more discredited or who are simply skeptical of the project.
However, there was a reverse effect after the billionaire participated in the SNL (Saturday Night Live) program. During his recent participation (which, by the way, was expected in the investor community with great expectation), the jokes made by Musk with Dogecoin as main target, had bad repercussions in the valuation of the cryptocurrency, and this made the value of it reach an extremely high record negative level (something about 30% devaluation in a very short time).
This event was something historic for Dogecoin's upward trajectory, which at the beginning of Musk's presentation at SNL grew negatively, and went from 30% to 40% devaluation. All this because the "presenter" bet on jokes that did not really please investors. Among the negative points, his own mother (Maye Musk) said that he would not want to win this cryptocurrency as a kind of "unusual" gift on Mother's Day itself.
On another negative point, in one of Musk's performances, he played an economist considered the "father of Dogecoin", but when trying to explain the workings of cryptocurrency to those who are interested in it... Things don't go as well as expected because there is a use of technical terms (to try to define the functionality of the digital asset) where nothing is exactly clear to the interlocutors, who end up classifying the currency in question as a potentially "fraudulent" cryptocurrency.
Ironically, Musk's participation in SNL had a disastrous effect on the currency, and made the dog bark lower for a few hours. Whether the market will continue to be bad is anyone's guess (nobody has a way of predicting the future... especially within the market in relation to cryptocurrencies), but the fact is that not even the voice of this billionaire has a lasting positive effect for as long as many of we've imagined earlier.

Las cosas no salen tan bien como esperado porque hay un uso de términos técnicos (para intentar definir la funcionalidad del activo digital) donde nada es exactamente claro para los interlocutores, quienes terminan clasificando la moneda en cuestión como una criptomoneda potencialmente "fraudulenta".
Irónicamente, la participación de Musk en SNL tuvo un efecto desastroso en la moneda e hizo que el perro ladrara más bajo durante unas horas. Si el mercado seguirá mal es una incógnita (nadie tiene forma de predecir el futuro... especialmente dentro del mercado en relación a las criptomonedas), pero lo cierto es que ni siquiera la voz de este multimillonario tiene un efecto positivo duradero durante el tiempo que muchos de nosotros imaginamos antes.

Se o mercado vai continuar ruim é uma incógnita (ninguém tem como prever o futuro... principalmente dentro do mercado em relação as criptomoedas), mas o fato é que nem mesmo a voz desse bilionário tem efeito positivo duradouro por tanto tempo como muitos de nós imaginamos anteriormente.

It was quite an unexpected move in the prices of the doge. Everybody expected that the doge will correct a bit in the prices but 40% devaluation would have caught a lot of investors on a wrong foot, may be the dip investors will make money now.
Everyone knew that Dogecoin would dump after SNL, no matter what. This was a typical situation in which each coin dumps. To be honest, they made fun of it and it wasn't at all a "pump dogecoin" situation. But still, I feel like he had fun with it, but still - the fact that Dogecoin got featured on one of the most important talkshows in the world, is still a big think. And since then, the price has also mostly recovered.
So, it wasn't at all as bad as people might think... :)
Yeah, I kinda agree. However, in overall, I think Musk did wrong because he could have done something much more interesting to try to promote Dogecoin.
But, I think it is important to understand that Elon Musk isn't there really to promote Dogecoin. He is simply having fun with the coin... that is why he can actually says whatever he wants to say, because he has no contract with the Dogecoin team, nor any obligation. He just tweets and says whatever he wants to, whenever he wants to... that is a big part of the game here!
His sketch was quite scary that one person could hold so much power to cause such a large market reaction.
