Threads (META) has been the platform to achieve 100 million registrations in record time. Only 5 days.
But growing fast does not guarantee staying on top and this is the case that I am going to talk about.
From now on, so as not to confuse, I am going to use the terms "META" and "LEO".
Having a record does not mean being something interesting, and we can see this when "META" has lost 79% of its active users in just 31 days.
Of 49.3 million active users, currently only 10.3 million use the app. These data reflect the period from July 7 to August 7.
In my opinion, this loss of users is due to the little interest that the platform generates despite having many famous users. I'm talking about world-renowned superstars, singers, actors, F1 drivers, and youtubers, including Mr. Beast with +178 million followers.
What is done in "META" that you cannot do in a WhatsApp group or a Telegram group?
Let's see some statistics according to the SimilarWeb website.
We can see how there is a very clear trend, despite the fact that "LEO" has fewer users, they tend to be much more active.
Although we cannot really know the users that are active every day in "LEO", we do know that they tend to spend more time, and here a suggestion for @leofinance is to publish the total number of users that use the platform every week or month, it is something that personally interests me to be able to observe how it grows every day.
The most surprising of all is that without having influencers in "LEO" people prefer to be here.
"LEO" has had enormous growth in the number of visits in the last month, although it is a very general factor since many of us enter several times a day, hence it would be interesting to see the number of users.
"META" has a big problem, the service they offer is illegal in the European Union. In the ToS (Terms of Service) section, "META" ensures that they register information about finances, health, your mobile contacts and share sensitive data with third-party applications, racial data, disability, religious beliefs, political opinions, sexual orientation and much more.
Personally I have not been able to try "META" for two simple reasons, firstly because I am not interested, and secondly because I have to use a VPN because it is not available in my country due to the protection of the European Union.
I think that the European Union is implementing more and more measures to protect the user as much as possible, and i'm lucky to be able to be supported, I think that all countries should implement this to prevent their data from being sold.
In Hive no one can sell your data, technically each one of us is a simple wallet with public records, there is no sensitive information that is worth money, what there is a trust in the community and that is why decentralization is the future.
I consider "META" a competitor of "LEO"? The answer is no, there are many people who dont know what its a decentralized platform and its everyone's task to share knowledge, and we are working on that in @earn.and.grow (cant be mentionen on LEO, the practical example that you asked me @khaleelkazi) project, we are seeking to expand knowledge and globalize more and more every day Hive and Web3.
