Complete vs. Finished...

in Funny3 years ago

Is it "complete", "finished", or "completely finished"?

No English dictionary has been able to adequately explain the difference between these two words: "Complete" and "Finished".

In a recent linguistic competition held in London and attended by, supposedly, the best in the world, Samdar Balgobin, a Guyanese man, was the clear winner with a standing ovation which lasted over 5 minutes.

The final question was: 'How do you explain the difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED in a way that is easy to understand? Some people say there is no difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED.’

Here is his astute answer.

“When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE. When you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED. And when the right one catches you with the wrong one, you are COMPLETELY FINISHED!

Heheheheheh. I really wonder who the original source of this joke is, it's so good. However, I hope no one actually finds it difficult to come up with a difference between these words cos it's so simple.

Note the "source unknown."

As in, I DID NOT CLAIM IT TO BE ORIGINAL CONTENT.

As in, NOT plagiarism.

Hello.

In that case, your posts would only convert into copypasta spam with no original content added.

"Spam" for posting ONE joke in ONE "funny" group???

Jeezus, you really do embody the tight-assed hall-monitor archetype perfectly.

My bad for attempting to spread some laughter in the world. 🙄

"One" plagiarism post has been so far at least 3.
The first time plagiarism fraud was discovered was a year ago.
It means that you are aware of what you are posting.

Before making false accusations, you would do well to familiarize yourself with the definition of "plagiarism:"

plagiarism cannot exist when “(original) source/author unknown)” is CLEARLY STATED in all referenced posts. you're old enough that such basic logical facts should need no explanation.

You’ve crossed the line into slander and defamation here with claims that have no factual, lawful, or legal basis.

If you weren't hiding behind an anonymous account, this could be well-considered a trespass by way of slander, defamation, and harm in public forum - with claim pressed against you, as a man, for said trespass against i, a man, in a court of law, should the trespass continue and remedy not be provided.

I double-checked the posts. Although you did not provide the sources, the posts contained vague mention that you are not the author.
It means that the category of abuse would be changed from plagiarism to copypasta spam. You added no personal thought or significant commentary to the stories that you copied from various sources. It is recommended to add at least 50% of your own, original content to the quoted text (quotes must be clearly marked and sourced).
You did it a year ago and received a comment from us but you decided to repeat this activity again. It means that you were aware of what you were doing.
As you did not decline the rewards on these posts, it appears to be an attempt to farm for potential rewards on spam content.

You are not blacklisted but the account will be blacklisted if any abuse continues.
