Entitled, complacent and lazy

The world I live in doesn't fill me with hope. I,

t's a world in which laziness, complacency and entitlement runs rampant and that contradicts my upbringing, my set of standards and morals and the way I choose to live my life.

My life is vibrant and happy and I live well every day. I have what I want and need, who I want and need, and I have few complaints. This does not mean it's perfect or that things do not go wrong, it means that I actively work towards creating the best life I can possibly live every single day, and that takes effort.

I have worked for what I have, my guy and I work very hard on that.

I don't only mean we both work hard at our jobs although we definitely do that. No, we work at everything that makes our life what it is from our own thoughts and attitudes to our relationship, positioning our financial future, our health, physical appearance, emotional and mental well-being, general happiness and every other aspect of life that contributes towards making life joyous.

But the society we live in doesn't often seem to do the same.

Society, human begins, are becoming more lazy in many ways and the explosion of artificial intelligence and other automation is crushing the sense of hard work, effort and the ability to strive for something. People are more complacent than they used to be as well. They sit back thinking, knowing or hoping someone else will furnish their life with what they need or want; they even have the audacity to expect it and to see it as an affront when things don't simply happen for them despite their lack of any input or effort. Entitlement.

I don't like society in general.

It's filled with egotistical, lazy, selfish, hurtful, prideful people who don't even seem to have the ability or desire to think for themselves to the point that most people are so unprepared for their older age and that puts pressure on others. Humans treat themselves so poorly and carelessly, is it any wonder they treat the planet even worse? I think it is not.

One of the #weekend-engagement topics asked what three behaviours I'd like to remove from humanity and entitlement, complacency and laziness are those three things...just three amongst many other changes humanity needs to make if they hope to have a sustainable future.

Sort:

You picked 3 solid choices right there.

Mine were Lies, Cheaters, Thieves (stealing)

It has such a negative effect on the business of freight relocation that I am part of.

And You are Soooo right about humanities downward spiral.

I'd like it not to be true and I'd like humanity to be on the right path but I don't see it at all and there's overwhelming evidence that humanity is headed down the path to destruction.

The advent of technology is backfiring the society in many ways...there is no real life left to enjoy....it is worth to have these 3 removed for the welfare of the humanity. Depending ever on so called society is worst thing to do...

It's quite sad that what you say is completely true. It sometimes depresses me.

There is no way out, you have to be of your own , thankfully you have a better partner / man who never make you feel most in the society....🙂👍

I've very lucky to have him. I tell him he's lucky to have me too. 🙃

Becca 🌷

You both complement each other very well.....made for each other.

Entitlement(Privilege)
I have often thought about this feature, which some of the people on this planet have only because they were born in a "better, more normal, higher quality" country.
When I just remember, how much less effort my peers in America, Germany, France or Norway had to have, to have what I had to strive for with all my might (and probably not achieve completely).
That privilege and the ease of getting everything they put their finger on, led to the development of laziness in such people.

It would be nice to put all 8 billion people on the same starting line, on the same field and set the same goal for everyone.
Well, only then would you see who is made of what material and who is really good.
And not whether someone has more rights and privileges than someone else, but to everyone as they deserve.

and I have few complaints

I believe it's not "I have nothing to wear" 🙂

Why do you think some people feel so entitled?

Becca 🌷

Because they don't know, they live in their own world like a glass bubble. The only question is until when...

Some feel like they have the right, just because they were born in a country and system that gave them much more (and that they didn't have to earn), and they don't know how hard it is for someone else to acquire something they consider waste.

Traveling and getting to know different cultures and ways of life of other peoples on other continents is the best way to show an individual where he is and whether he was lucky or not to be born in a rich country.

Not all of us in this world have the same starting points and not everyone is able to get an education, work, earn and live the same life...

Those who are not privileged can try and, through work and commitment, get the most they can in the conditions they are in and rise above the average level.
That's how all of us from shitty countries fight 🙂

I don't have a problem with people working and trying to get ahead, that's how it's supposed to be. I don't like entitled people who do nothing but still feel they deserve everything.

Several years ago, society embarked on a path of self-destruction. People believe that this is progress, that it is an improvement, but in reality, the essence of being human is being lost. People are becoming like automatons, letting others think for them and do things for them, and then they complain about things or simply don't care about anything anymore. Society is divided between what I mentioned and people like you and me who think differently and strive to have a beautiful life... then they envy us. But unfortunately, I think most people are lazy... I don't know where we're going, but I don't see a good path ahead.

Hugs, Becca.💗

I agree, so many people are lazy and that's one of the problems. They look for someone else to do the hard work, make the effort, and sit back waiting for things to fall conveniently into their lap; but what happens when there's no one to do the work and 8 billion people needing the work done?

Becca 🌷

Lazy people will not do anything, even if someone else needs it... and those people who really need something will look for someone else. The lazy person will be left with nothing, as a consequence of their actions... or so it should be.

Beautiful photo, greetings ✌🏻

Thanks.
