RE: Celebrating Mexico | Mexican "fiesta" weekends.

Amazing food and even better with the celebration. It's September 16th. Is that the day of the famous Grito de Dolores? I finished a podcast about revolutions a while ago and the last in my trip down memory lane was the Mexican Revolution. And I can't remember the date.

But who needs dates when you have amazing food, fireworks and lots of colourful displays of joy?

Yes, that's the famous "Grito de dolores", it takes place on September 15 almost at midnight and from there begin the celebrations that end on the 16th, this year it was great because the 16th was a non-working day, so the party started from Thursday afternoon 🙈.

The Mexican revolution is celebrated on November 20, but I don't know why it is not given as much emphasis as independence 🤔

It's because it was then Father Hidalgo made the proclamation. It is similar to April 19th and July 5th around here. Both are independence days but the latter gets the cake since it's the declaration.

El Grito de Dolores is the start of the fight for Mexican independence from Spain. The revolution comes way after when the fight against The Porfiriato started.

Ha, ha, ha, ha. 4 days of party sounds like the Latin way to party.

I know the story, I just don't understand why they don't emphasize the celebration of the revolution, even the día de muertos is more important hahahaha.

These days are the beginning of the end of the diet, next month comes día de muertos and then Christmas, so let's get fat 🤣

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. That's right! Those are the truly important days of the year.
