It is no surprise that I would opt for something as a second chance in another place. I mean this one lacks so many things that it's more about surviving that living. The anxiety levels on the population are as high as the moon and they keep going up. There should be an interesting statistics about how many people have perished for these reasons. But I think no one will ever get their hands on then since the government censors all.
Yesterday, I had the chance to experience something that was common more than a decade ago. I went to a friend's house because he was going to celebrate his birthday. This isn't usual. The day was actually of Wednesday but he was coped up with work and opted for the weekend to do something. That's fairly common too. The weird thing was having a barbecue and whiskey. And it might be vexing since meat and alcohol of that grade have become a luxury around here. It brought me back to the days when I was ending high school and had these barbecues at an uncle's penthouse. All before the seeds of socialism sprouted.
At my almost 30 years, I can stop to wonder about how different my reality could be if I had been born in another country. But this idea is heavily influenced by my conversations of last night with the man of the hour.
He was giving me an account of what his friends around the globe do for a living. In this side of the mud, the live to work. That's also a reality here. It seems like our destiny in America is work until we die and others to take our place to keep the wheel spinning on this idea.
Then we went to another friend of his that lives in Europe. I can't recall the country. But it seems to me that people in Europe work and live. I don't think they are lazy or anything. Rather than the centuries of history, revolutions, conflicts and all have shaped the general idea of how work and life should mingle together. I was taking a look at working hours and even when the average hours are around 40 a week, it's surprising to see countries with as low as 30 hours of work a week.
That thing gives you the chance of going out and enjoying your life and still be working. I guess European standards for these things are more of working smarter rather than harder. And we have all that mixed up.
I'd love to be reborn in Europe and have the chance to experience much of its culture and lifestyle. If I had the chance to migrate there while I still live, it would be wonderful. My hopes for that aren't too big nevertheless. Being born Venezuelan has proven to be a handicap too high for many things. Especially nowadays when a lot of countrymen have decided to bestow the halo of bad reputation to the rest of our kin.
In regards to where I'd like to be reborn, I cannot decide. But I think just the fact of being in Europe would mean so many positive things. And I'm not forgetting that there are problems everywhere, but I'd love my problems to be on the manageable escape rather than a constant feeling of despair over basic needs.
I'm always wondering how my friends that have migrated to countries like Spain and Germany always seem to have time to attend to events. They look happy and healthy and enjoying there time and life. It always make my day when I see them doing stuff I know they always wanted. I'd like that for me, but it isn't within my reach. Who knows if it will ever be?
So karma, if this thing called life has a re-do, would you be kind as to cut me some slack and throw in a nice place. One where people have finally understood that socialism is a scam and where working isn't the only thing one should do while living is still a thing.
I couldn't even tell of this sounds materialistic or not. It's not about having more stuff but not worrying for petty things.
I would also love to know about working routines around the world. I know there are search engines, but commentary on this is much more useful as a source since general information lacks the depth of experience. This has been all from me, for now. Hope you have a great week!

I think that many people share the same sentiment you are experiencing right now. I've wondered many times if I had stayed in the UK and got my citizenship would it have been better for me? Perhaps in some aspects yes, but I hated the weather and didn't really like the pub-crawling that made up the entire social landscape there. There is still time you know, you are only 30 and even though it may seem difficult now, you are working each day towards a goal and if you make that to end up in Europe, well then each day will bring you closer to doing so.
The economic climate where I live is shite for the record and there have already been instances this past week of shops being looted again. It's going to get worse too. I'm not a denialist about the slippery slope we are on and totally agree with your views on socialism.

It's a steep peak to surmount. I don't think it is feasible, but I have prove myself wrong more times than once. And that comment about the UK is one of the underlying problems that sometimes prevents people from trying to do something about their current situation.
I think the economic climate is utter rubbish around everywhere except for those who have money and still have it. Maybe I'm aiming for the wrong the and should try to go off the grid and start a farm.
