Hahaha, That's ultra frustrating for a German. I know you are methodical with exceedingly high standards. I only ever had one job, that was in a guest house and my boss was German. She used to have us scrub out the wardrobes with a scrubbing brush after each guest.

Moving to Ecuador definitely was a "character strengthening experience". And I did loosen up a lot, after a few years. Not too much, because one thing I noticed it that exactly that methodical thinking was key to my financial success here. It was a huge advantage towards the rest of people, and most successful people I know are very organized, too.

And luckily, I never got to the level of scrubbing wardrobes. But I did send a few nasty messages with pictures of 2g of dough that were glued to the wall.
