At the beginning of 2025, I had several goals that I thought I would be able to achieve.
Some of them were about work, some about my private life, some about my hobbies, some about travel, and some about my health...
I managed to achieve most of the goals, but one goal, with which I should have lost, I did not succeed, and I consider that a big defeat in the last year...
Not to confuse you: I needed to lose pounds of my body weight.
I mostly stuck to the listed amounts of food I took in my meals (with occasional cheat days), but my way of working, which was almost 100% office work, with a lack of time for physical activity contributed to the fact that, with occasional fluctuations in body weight, I ended the year with the same weight as at the beginning of the year.

I didn't manage to lose a single kilogram, not 10, which I know I need to lose, in order to be in top shape.
As a child of generation X, who is entering the jubilee category this year, I know that it is high time for me to start working more on myself.
With the goals I had for work, I was able to reduce my stress level a bit, which I was definitely pleased about.
I had several trips, which brought me enjoyment and a nice time spent with my partner, and in Hive I also achieved what I set out to do, even moved the goal a little...
But I didn't put in enough effort to lose the extra pounds from my body.
I was sick at some point during the year - a stomach problem that lasted for two weeks, when I recorded 90 kg on my scale (it was a period when I ate almost nothing for ten days except tostbread and tea), but the kilos came back, especially the last 10, holiday days.
And that's why, from mid-January and throughout the year, I have to increase my activity, devote a little more time to spending extra calories and melting the extra pounds I have now.
The goal?
So ungrateful to chart it.
But I would be satisfied if by the end of the year I could get down to under 90 kg(it would be perfect to achieve something above 85 kilograms), but not because of some illness, but if that goal was reached through diet and regular physical activity.

I hope that I will have time for such activities, now, after I have laid some more secure foundations at work, which should provide me with a more stable environment and a little more free time.
And I can jokingly set myself the goal of a model's weight, below 80 kg, which would be almost unreal, because I had that weight a quarter of a century ago.

But let that information stand, and before the end of 2026 I will report whether I survived the year (this is my wish every January 1st at midnight), as well as whether I managed to reduce my weight below 90 kg by correcting my diet and increased physical activity, or perhaps regain the model figure that I used to have in my youth, when I was engaged in regular physical activities.
It may seem that what I mentioned, more physical activity and weight loss, has nothing to do with the topic
Is your life lacking in some way and if so what are you going to do in 2026 to change that.
however, as it seems to me that my general state of health is collapsing due to excess weight and lack of activity, I believe that increasing physical activity is crucial for me in 2026.
Hear hear!
On new year's day, I said I'd start off with 20 squats and ramp up each day to 100 and do that every day in the year. It's not a new year resolution as I don't do them, just a reminder for myself. But I totally forgot about my reminder until I read this post
I am glad that my post reminded you and that you have already started your daily exercises. I saw that you have already made part of the travel plan for 2026, you will need fitness 😊
I set myself the task of doing a series of push-ups every day.
Until I start with combined exercises for the whole body, as soon as the weather improves a little, so that I don't jump around the apartment, it's nicer in nature.
Wow that's awesome progress!! Congrats!
