Music has been a part of my life since before I turned five - playing music I mean - when I began learning to play the piano; since then I've learned to play three different instruments; two pretty well and one... let's just say I was monumentally average at playing that one.
Listening to music has been a favourite thing to do and my tastes are diverse. I've also used music as a form of communication, and I've sent and received music to convey emotions as sometimes the music says it better I guess.
I've added some tracks that I've either sent or have been sent to me with the intention of communicating a message, feeling or emotion; I'll not share the reasons or situations around each of them, but each has impacted me or someone else in the intended way - Could I, or others, have used our own words to say the same thing? Yes, for sure, but it's sort of nice to put music with such meaning into one's head as music is so emotive and I think many would say the same thing.
Have you done the same and if so what were the tracks? Do a post in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community and tag it #saturdayselections as part of that music concept...if you don't tag it that it doesn't belong in the community.

Something tells me that your monumentally average is not as bad as you're making it sound. I could be wrong, but I think I am not. And yes music can say so much and can stay with a person bringing the emotions back every time they hear the music. It's lovely.

You over estimate my abilities, but thanks, I appreciate the level of confidence.
Three instruments is no joke... I only did flute at school and I didn't like it, but teacher was an asshole so that's probably the reason...
I got the feeling 4x4 was sent by your girlfriend when she wanted to go off road, but I'll be totally wrong I guess 😂
Honestly I never received a music as a message, not i used it either, actually I never thought about it, maybe cause people don't have time and won't bother listen more than 10 seconds...
It's amazing how much on an impact the right and wrong teacher can have on the way people learn, don't you think?
Correct, she sent me that one, she loves the track, as do I.
You're right about the ten seconds thing for sure, but when my girlfriend sends me things, people that matter, I always listen. It's a respect thing and, of course, mostly I actually want to listen. I'd rather listen and watch something from someone I value and like than some random shit on youtube.
Disregard my previously clueless comment.
What Was I Thinkin'
I have seen that 4x4xU song/video. Some mornings I have the television on CMT while wake & bake'n my coffee. I seen/heard it but did not recall the name.
It's a cool track and Lainey Wilson is a great artist. She's here for a show in February.
Yep, the same goes for French, i bloody hated it as the teacher was even worse, a total idiot bullying students
I agree, i would too, it's a matter of also respect for the person as you say, something that nowadays people lack anyways...
I had a terrible German teacher back in the day, fuck knows why we had to learn German, we'd only finished being at war with them 35 years earlier.
Three instruments? You are a man of many talents. Not sure if you can continue to surprise me now.
All three of my brothers can play an instrument of some sort. I am the only one who cannot. I do love music though and we have enjoyed many a jam session together in the past. Them playing and me tapping a beer can along with them.
Yep, three. Piano, trumpet and bass guitar. Started piano when I was four and a half and that's the main instrument; I got pretty good.
I never learned to play the beer can but I'd say as long as you keep a decent rhythm and it makes a sound then it qualifies as an instrument.
This guy from Norway agrees
Now that is some beer can jammin'.
Lol.
4x4xU...
I am intrigued. Ahh who am I trying to fool? I don't use words like intrigued.
But I gotta listen to that one cuz the name sounds...
Rednecker
Rednecker is a great track, they play it here a lot on the country music DAB radio station I listen to.
Agree with you, music can send a message.
I also agree with you, people read messages from music.
Many people have memories connected to music as well.
Somehow, I dont seem to be part of this category of people. Yes, I feel emotions in music, but I never use music to communicate. For me, it isn't easy, since for one, I never listen to lyrics, don't know what the lyrics' story is about. Also, I seem to get happy when I listen to melancholic and depressing music. Not sure how others will perceive it when I send them music I truly like, while it sounds depressing 😆 Just going by the instruments, the rhythm and all that, is not easy to bring a concise message across, while I do like clarity when I like to bring a message across.
Yesterday evening a posted a track resulting in goosbumps whenever I listen it, in the Uwe's Danceweekend post. That was my Saturday selection I suppose, but not one you invited for 🎶
NJOY the remainder fo your Sunday!
Music can be incredibly powerful right and it has the ability to bring memories flooding back as you say.

That cover of Gentle on My Mind by The Band Perry has always impressed me. I have a friend who works for Gordon's Food Service (not sure if you have heard of them there in Australia), but for their annual Christmas party, The Band Perry was the entertainment they booked. I'm a pretty big fan of Lainey Wilson too. She has an amazing voice. I'd love to see her in concert one day.
It's a good cover isn't it? The original was good too. The Band Perry at the Christmas party? That's pretty awesome. Lainey Wilson is here in my city later in February and I'm going.
Lucky you! Let me know how awesome it is!
I'm really looking forward to it. Dinner prior, the concert and late coffee and all. Should be a good night.
Sounds like an amazing night!
Yes, I have sent special songs for various reasons and also this week and last week I have been sent beautiful songs with a lot of feeling, and now I have them on my phone to listen to them a lot.
Here is one of the videos I sent to someone
From your selection the first one fascinates me and the two following ones are great!!!
I reckon at least one person has sent a Richard Clayderman song over the years. One out of 8 billion people isn't too bad at all huh? 🤣
I'm sure it was, just one person...😆
😉
I had no idea you played the piano. That's no mean feat. My nephew can play just about anything - me, pfft. I never had the ear, nor the patience.
I've written about it a few times in the past. Did all my piano grades, was destined for the Conservatorium of Music but life had other plans for me. I still play, have a piano. The trumpet and bass, well, I don't play anymore.
Amazing. I'd love to see a video of that one day! Does your better half play anything?
