What's considered old? Probably me I guess considering that on my next birthday I'll be 142 years old. It seems like just yesterday when electricity was invented - I remember it well - ok, not really, but for sure I'm probably considered somewhat of a dinosaur by the youth of today...who mostly have no fucken idea what the fuck is up so who fucken cares what those fuckers fucken think.

Anyway, speaking of old fuckers, this past week I was listening to some...there's no surprise that old fuckers can be quite good to listen to whether it's their music, which often has more substance than the rubbish that's manufactured these days, or their life-experiences from which many lessons and much understanding can come.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the understanding that the combined age of the artists below is one million two hundred and seventeen thousand three hundred and nine years...yep, I'm one hundred percent sure I'm correct on that, and that's a lot of musical experience.

🔺Credence Clearwater Revival🔺John Mellencamp🔺Eric Clapton🔺

I enjoyed listening to these old fuckers and John Mellencamp (Johnny Cougar/John Cougar Mellencamp or whatever that old fucker calls himself these days) especially, it took me back to my early 100's when I was just a spring chicken.

That's about it for today...although, whether you're an old fucker or a young fucker, I hope you have a good weekend.

(This post is for the #saturdayselections concept - sharing music in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community of Saturdays.)

Oh, I do like my music the same as my cheese, wine, beef and men - aged! A nice selection of aged music, right up my alley!

Good tunes huh?

As for beef, wine and cheese...with age comes many advantages and I'm told by the ladies that the same goes for the fellas so I'm not at all surprised you say so. You seem like a lady with discerning tastes.

lol I don't know how discerning my tastes are, all I know is...I like what I like. And yes..good, good tunes.

To like what you like is better than not liking what you like because if you did that you'd not like things that you should be liking because you actually like them but have chosen not to like them.

A wise man once said that.

lol give that wise man my thanks :-)

I did, he said thanks, and reiterated that through being well-aged, experienced, and all-round legit he is able to speak such pearls of wisdom.

142??? Wow! That's a whole lot of years spent on earth.
If this is not hyperbole then I hope you are still in good health and strong too.

It's true that the old music are far much better than the actual rubbish coming into the music industry these days 😞
I also love old music because they are good and the messages left in those old music holds good memories of either the artists or the ones listening to them

Yeah, I've seen a thing or two, blew out a lot of fucken candles on cakes too. I'm pretty healthy for my age though, a few aches and pains and that's about it.

Seriously though, much of the music these days is just rubbish and I can't listen to it.

Fucken candles lol 😆

I still listen to some of those rubbish funny stuff

😊😉

Honestly, I never heard of those names, I went through the links to check them but the style is too quiet for me 😂... It reminds me of the music of my parents time, like when I was 2-3 years old... You know what I think when I see that videos ? They hadn't all the technology we have now, internet, connections, strong cars, Deliveroo, all you can eat japan/Chinese yet they were more happy than most of the people today, friendships were more real, youths weren't dumbed 24/7 in front of the phone etc... And anyway yea modern stuff like trap is garbage compared to this

Music is a personal thing and some stay well between their boundaries but I think it's good to cross over sometimes, find new things, even if those new things are indeed older bands and artists. Life is too short to play too safe...and to listen to the absolute rubbish so many musical artists make.

That's true, from time to time I listen some classical for a change, like Berlioz - Hungarian March The Damnation of Faust or Grieg - Peer Gynt's Homecoming

You won't believe that I barely knew Credence Clearwater Revival last year, although I confess that I did know two of their tunes without knowing who sang them. I'm a dinosaur listening to dinosaurs and instead of loving the newest music I'm discovering artists from the past. My dad warned me about this, and two years after his death he is still right 😅 Happy weekend Galen, fuck the fuckers! ✌️

Life goes by so fast and I think it's each person's responsibility to live it the best they can which is why I'm happy to give music from the past a listen, one never knows if there something worth listening to again unless one listens in the first place.

Happy weekend.

your photo hit a sore spot for me- I really liked a jacket that belonged to my dad in his youth. For a few years I wore it as well. But now I no longer have and I think that I don't even have a photo of it to look for something similar. Shame. I thought that that jacket was very cool retro item.

It's interesting how some items of clothing can trigger the memory like that.

I was listening to some old folks this week too. My wife and I went to see a play this past week about the Temptations, so I was listening to a lot of them later in the week. I'm not nearly as old as you though!

Not as old as me? Yeah, I'm ancient. You'll get there one day though, or you'll die on the way. Both are unavoidable for anyone.

Yes, I will probably catch up to you at some point!

Yeah, when I kick the bucket you'll start catching up at a rapid rate.

Umm, I was unknown to this music. Well it sounds crazyy thanks for sharing this type of content I will go through more about this.

Yeah, I'm not surprised.
