I've had a reasonably relaxed Saturday so far with not a huge amount going on; I planned it this way, planned not to leave my property all day so I could read and listen to some music instead. That's exactly what I did...although I ended up leaving the house for about an hour.
I've just finished a couple books on my Kindle by Jane Harper called, The Dry, and, Force of Nature and today I read (start to finish), The Housemaid, by Frieda McFadden which was every bit as good as they say it would be. That's three books in a week...so I spent some time on Kindle Unlimited looking for some more to take me through to the end of January I've got a few good ones lined up!
I didn't want to go out but received a call from the business servicing and doing some repairs on my lawn mower letting me know it was complete so I went to get it, dropped it at one of my other houses ready for some lawn mowing next weekend and grabbed some burgers for lunch on the way home.
I sat outside mostly, occasionally in my hammock, it was a nice blue day, not too hot and it felt right to get some fresh air after the really hot temperatures we've had lately. I'll be back to work soon so it was nice to sit around relaxing with no real agenda.
Over the course of the day I had some music on and below are three of the tracks I listened to from a random Spotify playlist I have.
Faith No more
Sister Hazel
Live
What have you been up to this weekend so far? Anything good? Bad? Being good at being bad?
If you want to tell me about it make a comment and don't forget to drop some music if you want also, I'm always interested in finding something new or rediscovering something I've allowed myself to forgotten.

I would not want to mow yards in the heat you have been experiencing there. But I guess you have to do what you got to do. Now, hanging out in the hammock, listening to tunes sounds like some good weekend relaxation shit.
As far as us, our Saturday just started. We plan to just hang out as there is rain expected today and snow tomorrow. PLus the NFL wildcard games start this afternoon. Soo have some chicken wings prepared and ready to kick back and watch. Gonna try to enjoy a good weekend as last week started the grind again, and it was just ramping up. Next week I plan to really get at it so just gonna enjoy this lull one last time and do some Hiving while at it.
That sounds like a good Saturday, wings and NFL. (I watch also).
The weather here in my part of the country has cooled although there's heat and wildfires raging in Victoria currently which isn't good at all. I've been focused on doing as little as I can in the run back into the working year and I think I've hit the mark. It all kicks off tomorrow again and I'll be back at it, travelling and working etc. I don't mind, there's an endgame.
Have a great weekend.
Hello @galenkp
This Saturday has been quite homely and I have gone out just to do some personal errands and buy some food for the weekend.
Then I will sit down to enjoy sporting events of my choice.
I've been enjoying a Marc Anthony album called between boleros and salsa.
It's a beautiful album from which I like all the songs but, in a special way, I don't stop listening to these three:
If you listen to me mom
Forgive me, old man
Time didn't wait for me
On the album, the singer addresses the importance of time and what we should do with the people we love and the beautiful things in life.
Happy weekend.
Cheers and greetings.
I remember Marc Anthony, he had a song here a long time ago, can't quite recall what it was though.
Have a good weekend.
Perhaps it is Living Life, or maybe It Was Worth It.
Happy Sunday. Cheers and best regards.
Faith No More...
Highly underrated.
My Fave by Faith No More is...

Oh yeah, a good band for sure, I always liked them. Good song you mention too. ✅
Been baking some bread today, haven't done it for a long time, that will take up a good few hours of my day. Tonight I'm going to try make a sourdough starter for the first time, I want to bake sour dough bread this year.
I'm becoming be a hermit, this is the third day I haven't left the house, and I feel ok with it. Not sure if I should start to get worried 🙃
That's cool! I've not baked bread for a long time, don't eat it much, but used to love playing around with different things. Sour dough is awesome but a bit more complex to make I think though I've never done it. Eaten lots though.
Hermit on, nothing wrong with it now and then.
That is a nice way to spend a day XD J did pretty much the same thing, spent most of the day in bed reading aside from one stint of going to pick up youngest from his (J's) parents (youngest had spent Tuesday to Saturday fishing with his cousin, uncle, Pop and middle's boyfriend on Pop's boat). I was on video call with my sister for a fair chunk of the day as we both worked on our respective projects.
Today we went for a hike and lunch with friends and after that I got a bit thrown and have not gotten any more project work done so I'm trying to cram in a little bit more before putting the laundry on and going to bed x_x all in all good weekend.
We did listen to some music on the drives to and from hiking but you can have this track that my sister thought described a bunch of my characters (and is also on her project playlist). I didn't really agree with her sentiment but thought the song sounded alright and could see where she was coming from.
I reckon that sounds like an excellent use of a couple days! I've not hiked for a few weeks now and I miss it, hoping to go this weekend but not able to confirm it just yet.
I hope you catch up on your project, but often a little break like this can work wonders, refocus and all.
Thanks for the track, it's interesting.
Yeh I hadn't hiked for a bit either before that one so it was probably a good thing we took the easiest trail (the friends we took had been to the area before but hadn't gone on any of the trails hence starting with the most obvious one), my ankles and calves are a bit sore this morning XD
Sadly I don't think I am ever going to catch up on the project but I'll keep trying. I kind of need the polar opposite of a break from it, I need a hell of a lot more time x_x
I have told sibling dearest that her project should totally be a Western (she fights me on this every time because she doesn't want to draw horses XD) but in fairness to her I'm going purely off the fact that most of her project playlist is Dark Western.
Ankles and calves are supposed to be sore after a hike, it means it was a good hike...although if you do it more the soreness will lessen...and that's when you need to hike harder! :)
Sibling projects...seems like there could be some potential for rivalry, good-natured of course.
I don't usually get sore anything even after a decent hike so all this tells me is it's been way too long between hikes XD
We call each other's characters Mary Sue a lot for literally no other reason than they exist and do stuff, very long running joke XD
Well, I hope you manage to get some more hikes in, it's really pretty good for a person physically and mentally, oxygenates the brain and all.
3 books in a week sounds reasonable for my rhythm too, and yeah if it's not too hot it's good to take some sun outside
So far not much going on, house chores for now, but there is still half a day going on... Tomorrow I'd like to eat out for a change
Dolphin's cry sounds good for me, I'll drop you this

Chores, not much fun but must be done I suppose.
Good track, thanks for sharing it!
You have to do what you have to do, I always say, makes more sense in Italian though
It's random but I thought "Relaxaturday" is quite a creative "word". Hehe!
Thanks, I was aiming for creativity with it, a mix of relaxation and Saturday seems conducive to making up words.
I’ve been sorting out the music room a little bit and feel that I could do with some more racking or something to stack up some keyboards above the upright electric piano. Nice day out. Cold. Going to go for a walk later though.
Nothing like a little organising right? I did n't workshop last week, looking good now after getting somewhat out of shape over the last part of the year.
Enjoy your walk.
Yesterday my favorite basketball team won by 32 points . So that is good start of weekend. Today I was digging snow for about 1.5-2 hours. Not so fun but like you said that is a decent workout.
The team had a win? That's good news.
one of their key players got injured...again. But it seems that it is nothing too serious.
Well, at least they won.
My Saturday is going to be a boring commute day, check outs and flights included. But given I had awesome vacations so far, can't really complain. Have a great weekend!
Ps. Here's a song for you; a nice holiday vibe that played a few times while I was travelling:
Awesome vacation...that's about as good as a vacation can get I'd say. Hopefully it's not over yet...but even when it is, you'll have the residual memories of it and that's something right?
It's more than something, these are the memories I cherish!
We were just talking about Live the other day and how good they were. We were trying to convince my nephew about how he should check them out.
A good band from back in the day. I'm not sure if they're still out there making music or what the members are doing but I'd not mind listening to their music back when they were popular and obviously still now as well.
For sure!
Good morning and happy weekend, you must be a good reader having finished three books already and still have many lined up for you not everyone is capable, I feel weak must times to read especially if the volume of the book is big 😄🏃🏃
I'm well educated so read well and quickly.
Very well educated I can see for myself, is not easy putting such effort
The quality of the first picture is breathtaking
Ouch.. it's so beautiful
I love the flowers too
Flowers are one of natures gifts.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Ok.
