As usual, I'm here with some writing suggestions in case you are looking for something to post about over the weekend. I'll wrap up the weekend on Monday with my favourites post so please follow the guidelines below to be eligible. Time to die
Euthanasia, ending the life of an ill human to limit suffering, is a very contentious issue. What are your thoughts? Talk about being for or against it and the reasons you feel that way. Is there a valid use-case and if so, why? Do a post of at least 300 words and use photos you took if you can.
Meet the meat
If a law was passed that people had to kill and process their own meat for consumption (or not be able to eat it at all), would you do it or simply stop eating meat? (I mean animals, including fish). Explain your answer in at least 300 words and use images you took yourself if possible.
Time capsule letter
You can write a letter to be locked in a time capsule which will be opened two hundred years from now. What do you write and why? Answer in at least 300 words and use photos you personally took if you can.
Cave person
You're a caveman or cavegirl...what does a day in your life look like and what do you do with your time? Also, which one person would you want to be with you and why? (Just one person.) Answer and explain in at least 300 words, and use photos you personally took if you can. (They don't have to be of yourself)
Passion
Tell us what you're passionate about...Excluded is religion, crypto and gaming so don't write about them. Use photos you took yourself, not stock images, and the post must be 300 words long or more.
Curation may happen on posts that comply with the guidelines but only on quality original content. This is a chance to showcase yourself to the community and to find and build new relationships. It's about engagement with others as much as it's about posting content.

Well, I get happy about the weekend and then, if even a hint of a thought of Monday comes into my noggin, I'm like, time to die.
But here's the thing, it's a long weekend in SA because of the Adelaide Cup, you know that cruel sport they call horse racing. Today is also somewhat of a special occasion so no euthanasia for me today, or any time before Tuesday morning!

Making people laugh is a good thing I think, sometimes I laugh too but I guess I'm probably far too serious far too often.
It was a happy thing...although the thing itself could be construed as just another step into the grave, but that's how life works I guess. It went well and now is forgotten about until next year.
I'm off to the gun range to shoot today, then some macro photography is on the agenda for later. Should be a good day. I hope you have a good weekend.
I also am far too serious far too often. I'm trying to learn to make space and occasion to laugh more often. Watching videos of cats doing cute and hilarious things helps.
Life and death are so inextricably interwoven, as I have been prompted to remember this weekend. May the latter remind us of the preciousness of the former.
I hope it was a wonderful (b?) day and that your weekend is unfolding in the way you had hoped. I look forward to seeing those photos.
Death isn't the nicest thing to think about, but it's a reality for all of us. I'm one who is prepared for it, I mean from a logistical perspective and I figure when it happens I'll probably not know much about it. Certainly after it happens I'll not care. (I'll be too busy haunting people!) Accepting that death will happen helps me live more each day.
It's been a good weekend so far, just got home from a long drive in the country, some 420kms return. Found some great silo art I'll post about later in the week and took some shots around Port Broughton and Moonta. It was a nice day.

Ahhh, this one is going to be difficult @galenkp. They're all really thought provoking but it goes from hard to harder so I hope I make the right choice. That first one though.....it's calling to me, I think?
Sometimes difficult doing things deliver extraordinary results though right? I try to push people to think into areas they may not normally, or to be more creative and so on. I think these topics do that. I have some very interesting ones coming up in future weeks too.

Euthanasia is a subject that has intrigued me for some time, specifically since I read that in Colombia, the neighboring country to Venezuela, euthanasia had been approved for two people who, although they were not medically hopeless, had a medical condition, with no cure so far, in which they had to live suffering terrible pain. The patients claimed that they had the right to die with dignity and to choose when to leave this plane.
Personally, I agree with euthanasia ... I found it somewhat contradictory that euthanasia can be applied to a pet so that it does not suffer, but when it comes to humans then it is frowned upon.
By the way this coming week, if they approve the proposal, that same question is going to be in the #LadiesofHive community initiative of the week. In a way I think we had the same thought... kind of like something we took from the collective unconscious.

yep. my front porch that is about 50 feet by 15 feet?
it is now 25 feet by 15 feet LOL sheesh. the weight of the snow just ripped the entire porch to shreds and half of it collapsed. wow. sad sad day!!!
and our massive amounts of snow has become massive amounts of rain now - and flooding is imminent. 4 more days of rain.... California is having the craziest weather for the last year!!!! and no signs of stopping!!

Sounds bad though. Will insurance cover it and how long will that take considering the weather. I can't imagine the tradies (tradesmen) want to be building a porch in the middle of winter. Not a great situation.
yeah - we work at a camp - so we have our own maintenance men here - and this is camp property - so... no need for insurance - they'll fix it themselves!
but yes - i don't think any time soon! heheheh they need to definitely spend all their time right now maintaining the camp with the flooding issues.
turns out they announced tht every major roadway and highway coming into us - is closed.... no way in or out for us LOL
but that's ok - we have all that we need for now and can hunker down!!! :)
only takes a few of these things to let you know what really matters in life. - and we have had a string of them for the last 24 months that have been apocalyptic in proportions. LOL

One must be apocalypse-ready, as well as one can be, and adversity certainly helps that happen, or put people into th frame of mind to be open to preparedness.
A camp where kids come for the summer - & groups come with their orgaizatioms over weekemd ad stuff...

we are a year roumd camp - its such a womderful place for families to grow up - my kids have lived quite a life! hehehe

Yeah, I'd not want to go on, just to say, I'm alive, in certain circumstances. I'm pro-euthanasia as I think we should all have the right to choose. If a person chooses to live a life of agony, then so be it, but if someone wants to end their suffering they should be permitted to.

All weekend engagement concepts are thought-provoking, but my heart loved most the “Time Capsule Letter.” With the period of opening it after 200 years, I would probably write there the deepest secrets of the world about the ancient civilization with extraterrestrial intervention.
I like that topic too...Imagining what people would make of what I said in two hundred years.
You know Sir, I am really interested about these things. Even up to present, there are some things that sounds mysterious and even scientists cannot explain. There were traces about extra terrestrial intervention but left unproved because of lack of evidences and there are more to say about scientific matters. And that, the extra terrestrial intervention are just left being told us stories at present.
There's so many unexplained things right? I wonder if we will ever really know.
