Time Capsule - Week 140

Time capsule
You have the opportunity to leave three of your personal items in a time capsule to be buried then dug up in two hundred years from today. What do you put in there and why? How do you feel people of the future will interpret your items? Answer in at least 300 words and use photos you personally took if possible.

Lets talk about something important. We know that many of us will not last forever, let alone know what will happen in the future or how radical things will change. But here we are, with an opportunity to let everyone know about the past, our past.

Choosing three items was a difficult task, not because I own so many things, but the opposite. I don't have so many personal items, just a few things I consider important.

First

These are two books. I couldn't choose just one. These books are written in Spanish, but I bet you know the authors. Virginia Woolf and Edgar Allan Poe. Who doesn't know those names? I chose these books to let everyone in the future know that it existed amazing writers. That these writers will be known forever and they'll never be forgotten. To let them know about good literature and for some reason they are still present in our lives.

Second

A USB memory? Yes. This USB memory contains something that is part of my daily basis: music. It has many songs that have been part of my development as a person and as a writer. Songs that inspired so many poems and stories that I've shared here, in hive. It has bands such as: Radiohead, Evanescence, Led Zeppelin, Manchester Orchestra, Paramore, Pink Floyd, Queen, etc. Artists like: Avril Lavigne, Lizzy McAlpine, P!nk, Aurora, Kalandra, Phoebe Bridgers, Brandi Carlile, and more. These singers and songwriters transformed my life and made me the woman I am today.

Third

Okay. This is a notebook. One of many I have to say. This notebook contains many poems. Some of them already published here on hive. I chose this item because I want to be someone in the future, even if I can't get published in this era, I want something to be remembered in the posterity. I consider myself a good writer, and it took me a long time to acknowledge that was actually have something to say with my words. So, writing a book, or poems is something that I want to be remembered for.

Well, I don't know how people in the future will interpret my items. I hope that they consider me a kind of genius, I mean, I'm giving the good music and amazing literature. Hopefully, they'll know the value of those items and if some of them feel melancholy for me, well I'll like my work be published posthumous.

I hope you enjoy reading this. It's been a pleasure to share my items with you.

Sort:

We know that many of us will not last forever,

None of us will last forever. You, me and everyone we know will die. I think that's the attraction of leaving something behind for people to find down the track. I like the items you chose and the reasons why.

Sure indeed. Hopefully, people in the future won't be robots jejeje.

People are already robots.

Robots with heart. Most of the without empathy for other.

Yeah, heart, just no ability for individual thought, generally.

It's something to live day by day. The lucky ones, we're just observers .

I loved those items you will leave behind because it has a big importance for you.
Edgar Allan Poe is really a well-known individual and he is a legend.
It such a nice personal blog @itsjunevelasquez. Love it!

Well, thanks. I chose wisely. Those items are treasure for me. Glad you like it.

I was delighted to know that another person is detaching himself from his objects to make our species known in the best way, I found the music, poetry and books very tender. I accept you woman for the great potential you have. Surely we will be alive who knows from where watching all this @itsjunevelasquez

I guess it's great to leave something pure and really important for the future people of our world. Detaching from them will not be easy, but It will be for a great cause.
