Thanks @mrenglish. They have truly been a blessing to us even though we didn’t speak each other’s language.

Wow. I hope you'd be able to make a meal for them since they are of a different culture.

We’ve been living here for over 10 years so that should not be a problem. This time of year BBQs and camping are popular here so I thought a combination of both would be good.

The truth is that with globalization many places in the world have a lot of things in common. I’m sure we can find many foods that are mutually appetizing. Beef, vegetables, seafood etc.

Hehe it surely will be a lot of fun. BBQs and camping is plus seafood and vegetable will make a lot of sense I tell you.

Do you have a strong BBQ and outdoor camping culture in your area @mrenglish ?

We do normal BBQ hang out at the beach front. It isn't a culture per say. Some guys in the neighbourhood may decide to go camping to gather woods or hunt games or fishing then end it up in a BBQ roundtable.

BBQ by the beach ⛱️ is pretty common here too. Beef, chicken, vegetables, seafood and beer are common things to eat and drink at a BBQ here. How about in your area?

Hmmmmm.., these foods you just mentioned are truly yummy

They sure are @cool08. Are you into BBQs?

I think since they have been living as neighbors ffor over ten years, he should be able to know some of those food the neighbor love most.

Ahahah🤣😅🤣 globalization has brought the world together as a small community. There are meals that people of different culture can relate with.

You can at least speak a common language. That alone is enough.

Actually at the time we didn’t speak the same language. They spoke only Japanese and we spoke English. But nice people are nice in any language.

How then do you relate to each other? Do they also understand English?

At the time, they understood some English and we understood a little Japanese so we used translation dictionaries and gestures when we had some difficulty. Otherwise we tried to use easy English and Japanese.

Some neighbors are just too great and kind.

Yeah I feel blessed to have met them. Do you have any experiences where you’ve been helped by someone?

Gratitude is a must. I hope the people in my life know that they are loved and appreciated. In case they don't know I try to practice telling them whenever I get the chance to.
It's always nice to bond and reconnect over some good food.

It's good to help someone and I have done this several times

This reason has has to invite his neighbor for dinner is just to great. Inviting him for dinner will be the best.

My position on this is that good neighborliness is factor for communal growth.
