Greetings weekend friends, especially those who enjoy sharing their impressions every week about the controversial topics proposed by our friend @galenkp.
Today I am going to give you my opinion about the second topic, Dogs or cats, which do you prefer?

I'm going to start by confessing that since I was a child all animals scared me a little bit. In my house we had little fishes, birds, chicks, I loved to take care of them, but the bigger pets impressed me and I didn't feel comfortable if I had them close to me, I think I lacked contact.
However, all my fears disappeared after meeting a friend's dog during a stay at a campground during the summer vacation months.
His name was Toby and he was a great companion for all the kids at the camp and he participated in all the activities with us and enjoyed them. I think he noticed my fear, because I stayed away from him.

Unlike what I imagined he was not aggressive or annoying, just when it was dark or there were strangers he would watch out for us and accompany me without getting too close.
Little by little I got used to his presence and the moment came when knowing he was near me gave me security and peace of mind.
I created a connection with Toby that surprised everyone, even myself jjjj. Thanks to him I could understand that pets create deep bonds with their owners and all those who share with them.
I continued my friendship with Toby until his passing, which caused me as much pain as his owners, that sad episode taught me that bonds with animals can be as strong and meaningful as the ones we have with people.

I believe that my experience with Toby was a determining factor in my preference for dogs.
I admire dogs for their loyalty, their affection and their ability to integrate into the family and in a short time they become a member of it.
I have seen beautiful cats that interact very well with their owners, but I do not have good experience with them, I have seen them enter the kitchen and take food, they do not give me confidence.

Finally, I want to point out once again, that preferences always depend on individual experiences and many factors are involved.
The important thing is that we manage to connect with our chosen one.

I also prefer dogs as pets, although as you say preferences are in correspondence with the characteristics and experiences of each one.
A friend of mine has a dog named Toby and he is totally different from the one you present in your publication and who unfortunately passed away.
My friend's Toby is small and black.
Happy Sunday.
Cheers and greetings.
As you say, dogs are very protective and some are very intuitive with people and as you also tell us it all depends on the interaction and experiences we have with these animals, hence our preference for one or the other or both, it all depends on it. Greetings!
Thank you @brujita18 for your comment and support.❤️🌹
Greetings @osismo, dogs are usually protective of their owners, my friend's dog would not allow any stranger near her little girl, he was her guardian and playmate.
Have a great week!
