The contact with nature is healing. Feeling the sand on your bare feet and the warm water of the river.
Enjoying the horizon and the vastness of space without buildings blocking it.
All in a relaxed atmosphere and in good company.
I live in a city surrounded by rivers, there is the Caroní River and the great Orinoco.
The Caroní River sustains the hydroelectric dams in the area, it is a river with great strength.
On the outskirts of Puerto Ordaz, where I currently live, there are several bathing resorts.
Anniversary of the Berea Church and baptism of my son.
In front of my house there is a Christian church. My son meets weekly with the church youth group and has made a couple of friends with whom he always shares.
I am very happy that my son participates in these types of events, since he is 15 years old and is in a somewhat complicated stage, such as adolescence.
However, thanks to his good circle of friends and the talks about values at church, we can say that his behavior has improved and we have seen significant changes in him.
This gives me peace of mind, because I know that he is growing with solid foundations spiritually and morally.
On Sunday the church was turning 3 years old and to celebrate they decided to have a different service on the banks of the river.
They also took advantage of the occasion to baptize those who wanted to be baptized and my son made the decision on his own to be baptized.
We had a great time, the service was oriented towards faith and how to open ourselves to receive all the blessings that heaven already has for us.
Then the baptisms took place. It is worth mentioning that my son had never been baptized by water, but he had been baptized by fire. It is a long story that I will tell you in another post, but it has to do with my spiritual, not religious, search.
Once the baptisms were over, what we had left was to enjoy the rest of the day at the spa, bathing in the river, eating a delicious soup of ribs cooked on firewood, sharing with each other and snacking on the cake.
All in all, it was a very nice experience and definitely a different Sunday.
