This was my son's first fishing experience and we were very excited about it!
Family fishing is a fun thing but unfortunately, we don't get the opportunity much. Occasionally, once every few years, when we visit the rural areas, our relatives'/grandparents' homes, only then fishing can happen.
This was probably after four years, we got the chance to spend some fun time fishing.
We went to our aunt's house for a day tour. They have a few ponds there but all are in lease to people who use the ponds for commercial breeding of fish. So we were not sure if we could be able to fish this time. But the person who took the ponds as a lease allowed us to fish as much as we wish. He was so generous!
This is the pond where we fish. Usually, the rural ponds look like this, not ideal for fishing but for fish breeding.
My aunt doesn't have any fishing rods as all of my cousins are adults and live in different cities so no one is left to go fishing anymore. But she arranged some locally made, bamboo fishing rods. They are not top-notch but usable.
The bamboo sticks you are seeing are the fishing rods, if you look closely, you will see the string that we put on the pond.

The irony is, my five years old cought the fist fish because we all failed after waiting for around half an hour. When everyone was frustrated, I thought to pass the fishing rod to my son as he was showing interest. And guess what, in just a minute he fought the first one. Then we cought a few more.
All the fishes of the pond was a month old or so, there was no large fish. But it was okay, we had fun. That's what matters most.
After fishing, we went to see my aunt's other ponds. These are also in lease but not ideal for fishing so we went to the first one.
The best thing about countryside is all the random things. Like the the ducks swim on the pond, or the birds tweeting and the cattles on the field.
We roam around there territory of the house for more than a hour. The area is big with farms, fruit and vegetable garden, crop lands, and everything.
It was a wonderful weekend with all the fun activities. I wish to visit there again.
This is why I love the countryside. I think I tried once catching a fish hehe it was tilapia.

What a beautiful place to spend the weekend, enjoy what nature has to offer and escape from the daily routine. Well some of us have more concrete in our lives than others, who more often have more opportunity to be in contact with nature.
