Hello to all of you who make life with every weekend experience in this excellent Community. Here I tell you mine.
This weekend I did not plan any outing, since together with all the neighbors of the building where I live, we reached an agreement, (given the Christmas season here in Venezuela), we decided to do a good cleaning of the building and then decorate it as beautiful as possible with different Christmas arrangements.
We have formed a Whatsapp group with the 16 owners of the building, I am the administrator, since I am the President of the building elected by my neighbors.
The first thing we did was to make a budget of the materials we were going to use, such as: degreaser, liquid soap, bleach, disinfectant and brooms (we each got the brushes and rags from our apartment).
One of the neighbors gave an idea that if someone could get a hydrojet, since we had not given the building a good cleaning for a long time and with this we could remove the dirt more deeply.
We agreed during the week to find out about it and one of them informed that he got someone with one, but he did not lend it, the gentleman rents it for 24 hours with a price of 10 dollars, in view that nobody had it, we decided to pay it among all, so we collected 3 dollars per apartment, for the rent of the hydrojet and the materials to be used.
Of the 16 apartments, only 10 gave the collaboration of the 3 dollars, since 3 apartments are unoccupied and the owners of the other 3 claimed that they did not have money for that at the moment, since they had other priority expenses.
We collected $30 and that was more than enough to cover our expectations.
During the week we confirmed to the hydrojet guy that we were going to rent it and we bought everything needed for the cleaning.
Saturday morning at 9 am we were all outside with broom in hand. The neighbor brought the hydrojet and used it himself, starting with the fourth floor (which is the last one), all the way to the first floor. But first we applied industrial
degreaser, to loosen the old wax and dirt.
While he fired the water with high pressure, the owners of each floor were pouring liquid soap and squeezing hard with brushes, both on the roof, stairs, walls and railings throughout the building, the truth was a pretty deep cleaning, as we had not done it for years.
We really had a lot of fun, we were all like soaked chicks, when we got to the first floor, we couldn't stop laughing at each other, because we were all soaked, hahaha.
One of the neighbors went up to his apartment and brought down a pitcher with a delicious fruit cocktail and white rum that he had prepared himself, to toast the great achievement of that day. Cheers we all said out loud, in unity there is strength, yes we can!!!!
We all ended up draining water outside the building, finally we cleaned it and everything was impeccable, although there was a small problem, because of the strong water pressure the paint was removed from most of the railings of the handrail, Oh God, now we will have to paint, then I will tell you if we can collect more money for that, but for now I leave it up to here.
On Sunday I could not even get out of bed because of the pain in my arms and hands, I took a painkiller and that was it, I was happy to have participated in this important activity, which is for the welfare of all.
