Ready for karting? Let's go!

Hello friends, how are you? There's nothing better than making an “extreme” plan for the weekend, especially since it's so difficult for all of us to have the same day off. However, this time was an exception, because we all had Sunday off. We had planned to go on a tour to a small town, but at the last minute we changed our minds and decided to go to a go-kart track, which we had already visited but was closed on Mondays.

It's very close to our homes. It's called Formula 0 Outdoor Karting, an outdoor track with gasoline-powered karts that can reach very high speeds.

A little background on why we went there: we had previously wanted to go to a go-kart track, and we saw an advertisement for the one located in the Oasiz shopping center in Torrejón de Ardoz. but there are two issues: Torrejón is a 40-minute drive away, and the track is poor. It is very small, the karts are not very fast, and they have very silly rules, as we were not even allowed to take a photo to remember the experience.
Maybe we went on a Saturday and because there were so many people, they were that strict, but honestly, I didn't like it, so we give it a 5/10.

The positive point of that weekend was a buffet called Chicken & Pasta, which was super good and literally left us stuffed. This place is definitely recommended, 10/10.

We continue with Formula 0, and as soon as you enter, you can feel a different atmosphere. You can see and hear the karts from afar, which makes you happy to be there. There are areas for children, food, various shops, and areas to hang out with friends.
The registration process is a bit tedious, but then we discovered that it's so you can have a file on the track, meaning we can see all our statistics, from time, races, and similar positions with other people, we can add friends and unlock trophies.

The cost was €19 for a 10-minute race or €33 for 20 minutes. Almost all of us, except for one friend (Ismael), paid for the 20 minutes because we were left wanting more from the previous track.

We had to wait 30 minutes because there was a long line ahead of us, and when it was finally our turn, we put on our helmets and neck braces, and they gave us instructions in the waiting room. We were allowed to take photos, which was great. With the username we had previously added during registration, we could see what number kart we had and head to the starting line. There was also an explanatory video about the track rules. Finally, we started to leave one by one. We couldn't record anything on this first lap because we were all on the track.

The second lap was better. Ismael recorded us, and we were already used to the track. We knew the curves, the speed we could reach on a straight, and how the kart worked. Unfortunately, we wanted to compete against each other, but there were 10 other drivers, and it was difficult. However, at the end of it all, we saw the time, and I beat them by a considerable margin. One of my teammates collided with another racer, and they slowed him down, haha.
The incredible thing is the adrenaline rush you feel when you're driving the kart at full speed and you can't go any faster, plus taking the sharp turns and skidding. I literally felt like I was in Mario Kart, but there were others who did 56 seconds per lap, which was completely crazy.

So we give this experience 10/10, the track, the staff, everything in general, the place is incredible, it's a great atmosphere to go with friends and spend an afternoon there. And I recommend doing the same when you go to a place like this, pay for two rounds, because after the first one you'll be left wanting another go, plus when you're on it, the adrenaline rush of the first time feels amazing, and then it feels calmer.

So, see you guys next weekend.

Sort:

This looks like a lot of fun and that everyone had a great time. I've only been go karting once but my guy loves it and takes it pretty seriously; I stay off the track when he's on it.

HAHAHA hey, you have to take karting seriously, maximum concentration. 😂😂
It's an extreme plan for a good date, I'll do it when I go out with a girl.

You're right, it's a good date night activity.
