Land Planner Update – Smaller but Important Tweaks

in PRAETORIA6 days ago (edited)

Hey everyone,
today we have a smaller release, but with a few nice touches that make the tool more accurate and user-friendly!

If you don’t want to read the rest, here’s the link where you can dive directly into the new features:

Let’s go through the changes one by one.

Leaderboard Change

In the leaderboard, “Plot Active” has been renamed to “Plot Count”.
It was a bit misleading since it was simply showing the number of plots, not how many were active.
(Thanks for mentioning it, @keeegs !)

Land Card Estimation Fix

Previously, the efficiency value was fetched from the staked detail, but apparently in some cases (especially with Runi) that data wasn’t always updated.

Now it uses site_efficiency from the worksite detail, which seems to be the correct and up-to-date source.
(Thanks for spotting that, @envy2823 !)

Title and Label Updates

I’ve cleaned up a few titles to make them clearer, like “Missing Workers” and “Zero Boost (Neutrals)”.
These now better describe what you’re looking at.
(Thanks for reporting this, @warrentrx!)

Planner Screen Improvements

Some smaller and bigger visual updates here, after a few great chats with @madasaboxof (thanks again!)
You’ll now find:

  • Power Core selection
  • Production Boost selection

New Land Card PP Calculation

And now the main feature of this release!
The planner now includes proper Power Point (PP) values for land cards, no more eyeballing or rough estimates.

Big thanks to @cryptomancer for sharing the correct data!
These rules are now programmed into the planner and reflect how PP values actually work per card type.

Land set itself doesn’t have a multiplier, but foils do here’s how it breaks down:

Foil TypeMultiplier
Regular Foil (RF)2.0×
Gold Foil (GF)1.25×
Gold Foil Arcane (GFA)1.25×
Black Foil (BF)2.5×
Black Foil Arcane (BFA)2.5×

A smaller update, but it adds a lot of polish and accuracy, especially for those deep into land preparation and card planning.

GF and GFA multiplier need fixing in the text. It is a typo.

Updated, thanks for mentioning it 👍

If you are comparing to the CL cards, which is what I think you are doing, because Regular is 2.0X. Then it should be

Regular 2.0X
GF 2.5X
GFA 2.5X
BF 5.0X
BFA 5.0X

These are all for commons. Rare, Epics and Legendary gets their equivalent multipliers.

Yeah, the team likes to change things a bit every set 🤣… just like the max BCX rules across different editions. I also had to adjust the way I programmed it.

Normally a set has a simple multiplier, like Untamed 2×, CL 1×, and CA 0.5×.
But this set doesn’t follow that pattern.

For example, CA BFA is said to be 5×, but because the set multiplier is 0.5×, it eventually becomes 2.5×.

Just to give a bit more context, since the numbers in the post look different: I asked how they’re actually planning to calculate it, and the answer was:

Great update, The clearer labels and better calculations will make using the Land Planner so much easier for everyone in Splinterlands.
