Welcome back to a new release of the land tool.
This week’s update is focused mainly on castles and keeps.
Even though I don’t personally own one, I still wanted to give them some love because they play a big role in the bigger land ecosystem.
Last week @gillianpearce asked about planning for castles and keeps and how they impact boosts and production. That gave me the push to tackle this update. It wasn’t an easy one, I had to refactor quite a bit of code. But I also took the opportunity to improve the deed overview after @ourfadedglory posted some less-than-pretty screenshots (that was actually on my own whishlist).

Bug Fix – Card Overview
In the card overview, soulbound units weren’t being filtered correctly. Now, only fully unlocked soulbound cards show up, since those are the only ones that can actually be placed on land.
Deed Overview – Castle & Keep
The deed overview now includes proper details for castles and keeps:
- Percentage filled
- Capture rate
- Current estimated totem fragment chance
- Current claimable resources
Note: This data is cached and updates once per hour.
Also, don’t forget — when harvesting research plots, there’s always a tiny chance of pulling a totem. That’s now displayed as well.
Planning Update – Castle & Keep Simulation
This is the big one.
Incompatible combinations are now blocked. For example, you can’t selectgrain farming on the wrong terrain or mythic with grain producing. (If I missed any edge cases, let me know.)
Castles and keeps are now fully supported in planning. You can import them with your plot ID or just build a simulation from scratch. Here you need to enter the region for a castle or region and tract for a keep for the resource simulation.... You will see that hugely differs if you are in a active region/tract or not.
What’s new here is the ability to simulate:
- Resource production impact
- Capture rate
- Totem chances
Here’s something interesting I learned myself while testing: totem chance scales with base PP. That means boosts (like gold foil or older edition cards) actually increase your chances of pulling totems. I don’t think many players realize this, and I definitely didn’t since I don’t own a castle or keep.
Here a example of a keep of azircon, where you can see the difference if you place a epic totem on it or not.... make you wander. Also make me wanders sometime if i did the math correct 🤣
Important note: This simulation is based on region data from the last nightly update. If players in your region don’t harvest, your numbers might differ. Think of it as potential output rather than guaranteed.
Also, consumed resources are excluded from the sim and DEC is calculated separately (flat fee while the rest is hourly rate).
Comparing Castles & Keeps
One feature that might be super handy for players looking to buy: you can now directly compare castles and keeps.
Just search for listings on PeakMonsters, then set up the tool with what you’d place on it. The planner shows them side by side so you can see the difference.
I’m not sure I should be telling you this… since I secretly dream of owning a keep myself someday. But hey, knowledge is for the community. 😅

⚠️ Final Note
Still just a fun hobby project. Built during late-night, caffeine-fueled coding sessions.
If something breaks… ping me. I’ll fix it. Eventually. 😂
That’s it for this week’s update.
Hope this one helps those of you managing or eyeing castles and keeps. Let’s keep building together!

Thanks for the hard work on this beaker. I've been trying to input castles and keeps into the planning tool. I must be inputting the deed number wrong. What format should it be put in? all numbers, no characters?
You should be using the plot id that can found here:
In your case:
13358
Perfect, thanks man. I'm going to have a tinker with it
Looks great Beaker. Thanks for doing this. I'm going to have a play around with it now before I do my weekly harvest.
Nice, let me know if you run into problems or things that are unclear👍
Keep trying to save for a keep but always find something else to spend my DEC on… think it’s time to commit though can only see prices going one way
Same here 😁
Thanks for sharing! - @azircon
