I would love my house to be worth $1 tomorrow. I would need to pay far less taxes and rates on it :)
But HIVE is my digital home, too. Genuine engagement. Genuine people. If we could get rid of the shitty later two token bots that spam up comment sections (sure the author can mute) - it would make for an even cleaner, awesome place.
So many people just don't "get it", even those that are already on HIVE.
I'm glad you're here, and I am glad that you do indeed get it.
Lol you're right about the house
About tipping bots in comment sections, sure they are a bit annoying, and yet they represent a way for Hiveans to create a sense of community, engagement and reward each other. Things we don't have on traditional social media.
I'm glad you're here too, it's always a pleasure to read your posts 😊
It just adds noise the the genuine conversation. :) At least we're not full of purely fire emojis and love heart eyes
🔥🔥🔥👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️🤣
This tends to be the reason most give for sticking with Hive: the social aspect. Is it truly enough to advance Hive though? Many are pushed away by those 'unsocial' parties that seem to control the narrative on Hive.
As for Tipbots, they have their place, I do prefer those that put all the tip announcements into a single thread, though, instead of plaguing the comment sections! (Although those threads now seem to be getting hit with downvotes too) It's one of those things that is constantly developing, I guess, guided by the will of the hivians!
I don't think I have experienced those "unsocial" parties that you mention 🤔 Maybe it's just because I treat Hive as a social media platform, so I'm just here posting my stuff and reading other people stuff. And I do that in contexts which I'm interested in so I miss all the drama, I guess?
You're doing Hive the 'right way' then!
I guess most people who get caught up with those 'unsocial' parties are trying to game the system in one way or another. As a project owner and previous witness on Hive I've always tended to try to keep tabs on 'everything' going on. And, reading the drama can be fun (especially when you're not a part of it!).
Maybe I need to take a step back, focus on the little things and continue my journey with a focus on 'myself' and creating the kind of environment I want to be a part of! At the end of the day, we only see what we allow ourselves to see. Staying on the positive side of Hive creates a much better experience than drowning in negativity!
I don't mind the idea of the tip bots, but yeah, they give the comment section a real spammy look. I think Ecency deals with them very elegantly, hiding (some of) them behind a small icon that you need to click on to see. Unfortunately, Peakd's approach of simply minimizing (some of) them isn't nearly as nice.
