I know I can't give advice on this matter, but I can say I feel the same way whenever I stub my toe, have cut myself while opening a box, or working with some tools, or whatever. The anxiety of looking to see how bad the wound is is always worse than the wound itself.

If you are the type of person who thinks that alternate realities / parallel universes are a thing (I think I am one of those types of people) then while the status may be indeterminate in our current observable realm, your analogue in the other places knows.

They are everything, all at once, simultaneously. At least that is how I deal with my nausea at multiverse theory.
