Excellent story, nice plotting. Great overview of the diversity of cultures involved. My only critique would be that perhaps you might flesh out a few of the individual characters and show the overall plot from their perspective.
I especially liked the idea of class being linked to age. I had a very similar idea when I was exploring the idea of a "fair" society. Perhaps the classes could be branching, where perhaps at age 20, an individual could choose, or be recruited by either a warrior class, healer class, merchant class, or farmer class, or story teller (historian) class and then continue along that branch as they matured.

I didn't use the classes you mentioned because I was aware of it already and I wanted to make my own class. Maybe the elaboration is lacking but since you gave me an idea and you let me have another entry. I will improve this one, thanks.
Please don't misunderstand, feel free to write whatever you feel inspired to write. My suggestions are merely random thoughts that you can choose to use or not to use or build upon as you see fit. If you decide to create another entry for the contest you will increase your chances of winning a larger portion of the prize pool.
