Eric and Jane had been dating for two years without a sign of marriage proposal. Jane couldn't help but worry, she felt Eric was a rich, handsome and hardworking man so why was he still yet to settle down with her.

Or am I not the only one Eric is dating?

Jane began to doubt even though she knew how much Fred loved her. Jane gave signs to Fred so he could do the needful but to no avail, she began to loss faith in the relationship.

One cool evening, Jane decided to invite him to her place and break up with him so she could move on with her life. Jane wanted to get married but seemed Fred wasn't ready yet. As she was about to call Fred, her door bell rang. She dropped her phone and hurriedly went to check who was knocking.

Jane opened the door to see the love of her life, Fred with a lovely smile and her favorite flowers. Jane forgot all she had been thinking about and hugged Fred so warmly, the love she had for him felt anew. Just when she thought the surprise has ended, Fred knelt down and popped the question she had been longing to hear

Will you marry me?

Jane was so overwhelmed that a simple Yes couldn't get out of her mouth. She could only nod a Yes to her husband to be. Within a short period of time, weddings plans began and everything was set. Jane had the best wedding gown and they rented the perfect place for their wedding, the beach side. Everything went smooth and the day finally came, they were getting married.

Jane was walking down the aisle with her father and having the most beautiful smile as she looked at her husband waiting for her and everyone cheering and happy to be with her on her special day.

Everything was perfect until.......
I woke up to hear Jane crying so loud. Fred, her fiance broke up with her. My dream seemed so real that I couldn't believe what Jane told me. I tried to console her that they are met to be because I believed such dreams of mine always come true and I hope I'm right this time.

That is a sad story. However, you open the door for hope, if the narrator's dreams always do come true. It is possible in the context of a story that this is so. Certainly the reader wants Jane to be happy. That will happen, the narrator assures us, if it is meant to be.

Hi @merit.ahama. I enjoyed your story! Though it has a sad ending, it shows that anything can happen in relationships.

I was surprised at the end when there was a shift to a narrator, because at first the story was told in "third person," which means the narrator is invisible to the reader, and the story does not have a presence or a personality. I think in a story like this, it is important to establish right away if there is a person who is telling the story.

I love to help writers who are learning and developing the craft of writing to improve their skills. I hope this helps you!

It helped a lot ma'am, thanks for the tip. I am glad you love the story anyway.
