This is a story of a little boy who is always eager to know how to do things both at home and in school.
Raymond was a sharp little boy who used to mingle with people around him, and I can classify him as an extrovert because he always wants to know everything to the extent that he used to practice the craft of drawing.
If his mummy is cooking, he will stand there to know what she is doing and later when no one is there he will try to practice whatever they have done in his present. He used to remind his parents of whatever things they could not remember again so far the things have done in his presence.
One day, Raymond's father engaged in business with one of his friends, this business was worth millions of dollars and when they finished the business, the proceeds were with Raymond's father in raw cash at home. After agitation by Raymond's father that the money should be shared immediately but his friend chief Smith suggested that the money should be kept for a while to think about the next business to do to multiply the money.
When it was midnight, armed robbers entered Raymond's father house and they told him that by the time he received the money he couldn't take the money to the bank for saving because it was late hours. Where is the money? Or else we will blow your head and that of your wife. Said the thieves.
When they uttered these words, Raymond raised his head a bit to see who was talking and he observed that they were on masks. Immediately one of the thieves spotted Raymond had looked at them, he lifted him with both hands but he was cautioned that the boy is too small to recognise them, they left him alone and went with the money.
The following day, Raymond's father went to the police station to lodge complain about the incident. They followed him to his house for inspection and asked him if he had suspected anyone who could do it but he did not.
Police officers and Raymond's father were in this conversation, chief Smith entered the house to plan with Raymond's father about another business in which he thought they could venture into that would give them a higher return.
Chief Smith my friend, so the news has reached you. Armed robbers visited in the middle of midnight and they had collected our money. Said Raymond's father.
Which money? Please don't let me hear that nonsense, what did you mean? I am here because of this money and as you know that we are planning to invest this money in another business. Said chief Smith.
Don't worry, because officers have come to inspect the house and they will swing into action very soon they would apprehend the culprit and face the consequences of their actions. Said Raymond's father.
Is that what you will tell me? The only thing I know is that you just provide me with my share of the money because it was all I have, I don't want the story. Said chief Smith.
Police officers had done everything possible to apprehend the people behind it but all their effects proved abortive.
Chief Smith insisted that Raymond's father should get him his portion of the money before it is too late or else it would be settled in the court of law.
Ah! My friend. Is it up to that? Don't forget my share of the money was part of the money which we are talking about. If that should be the case, I will consult my financial institution to lend me some money to settle you. Said Raymond's father.
By and large, after weeks, Raymond and his parents were in a motor vehicle coming from the church program in the evening time, Raymond was requested to eat candy and Raymond's father did not hesitate and he stopped the engine of the car by the roadside very close to one big supermarket.
Raymond's father got down with Raymond to enable him to use the candy that he likes most but when they were shopping, one man stood beside them and he was also there for the same purpose the man wanted to pick up something and stretched his hand to pick, Raymond spotted the mark on the man's wrist. Because he used his hands to carry him up when they noticed that he was looking at them.
Raymond called his father to one corner and whispered to his father, I know this man, he was one of the thieves that barged into our house the other time. I can recognise him vividly.
Are you sure of what you're saying? Said Raymond's father.
Yes, daddy.
Alright, Raymond's father informed the police officer immediately and the man was being arrested. The interrogation started at the police station to locate the rest of the gangs but while they were on this matter, the suspect said you have to treat me gently because it was somebody that sent them.
Okay, we are ready to cooperate with you if you're ready to confess those behind the robbery. Said the officers.
It was chief Smith that sent us to steal the money because he was the one who gave us information about the money. He wants the whole money to be his own. Said the suspect.
Police officers went to chief Smith's house and he was arrested but when they asked about his actions toward his friend.
He said, is it only Raymond's father who knows how to do business and succeed? If we go to parties together he used to spend more than I do. When we executed a business together, I noticed that it is the only way I can make him feel pain and get something from him as well. That was the reason why I planned with these boys to rob him. Said chief Smith.
Oh! Officers could you believe I was the one who introduced him to my business so that he can also make something I did not know that I was digging my grave. But God will judge you, you are an ingrate person. So it was an enemy I have chosen to be a friend. This is a wicked world and he walked away.
