Meeting everyone at one place after three years, without a single absence.
We have this parents friendship group which was formed in 2012, that started from seeing each other at a tea stall near school, when our kids were in nursery. From few members, it grew up to a big forum, having 20 members, and then slowly we also started doing some get together regularly, where everyone's family were also included, thus making it a more than sixty plus group. Those events were so much fun for both us as well as the kids - they enjoyed with their friends group and we were happy to see them enjoying our company. After our kids completed their 10th board, we got separated, as different kids went into different streams, and the group became almost defunct over the last three years. But then suddenly a simple call from one of our member turned into a mega event, providing an opportunity to regroup again and what happened was beyond expectation - everyone joined the party and expressed how much we miss each other, even today.
It was the twentieth marriage anniversary of one of our member, but without saying that, they called everyone personally and asked to join on a tea party to discuss and arrange a picnic this year, as we have not met for long time. They were trying to see, if the group still has that same charm, even without much interaction over last three years. As we all stay at the same place, some of us cross our roads at times and share some moments, discuss where our kids are headed etc. But then the opportunity to meet everyone, again, after a long time increased my curiosity levels and I planned to close my busy day carefully (even with a doc appointment for my daughter) by 6.30 pm and go to the venue along with the lady - she was excited to meet everyone as well.
It was a surprise for us to discover that this was a special day for the couple, but then later we realized, it was a surprise for most of us, except very few, who are staying close to them. There were not much gifts for that reason, but then one of our friend surprised the special couple by presenting this beautiful cake to celebrate - can you match the theme of the cake to the couple ? It was so much fun to tell them all the gossips that you can spell only in front of close friends.

Three hours went just like that, without we realizing and then some of our members started leaving the place, but only in words. They were getting up and then somebody else would hold them and say, wait for few minutes we will go together but that won't happen - hope you can understand the scene - a typical long time friendship meet where no one wants to leave, but we are all bound by duties.
After long debate, we have decided to meet again for a picnic, most likely in the first week of January, as getting a date on which everyone would be available is almost impossible. But still everyone has assured to block that date and be available and bring those kids who are available. Time flies so fast - before we realize that our kids are now grown up and will explore the world on their own, leaving us alone - only then we realize, how important it is to have a good friend circle like this.

It's true when kids grow up these kind of meeting are hard to make, here after school separations no one tried to make a gather again, which is sad

Life’s busy routines, kids, and work have kept us so occupied that we’ve lost touch with friendships. Your post reminded me that we should also organize a reunion with our old friends.

It's really nice that after all these years everyone has been able to get together again where everyone has attended. Such get-togethers are really joyful and enjoyable.
20 years seems long , but before you know it , it will be 30 an onwards my next aniversary will be 35 years ;)

What an amazing family you have built
It's wonderful that after so many years and so much time apart, they exceeded expectations, and that they were able to celebrate, as is the case here, the 20th wedding anniversary of two of their members, and that their children, despite being separated for educational reasons, were able to stay in touch.
