Welcome to The Ink Well Writing Prize

The Ink Well aims to create a long-term income for writers through tipping. We will complement other forms of income for writers including traditional publishing, Amazon KDP and platforms like Patreon.

In order to do this, The Ink Well is looking for high quality writing, and short stories that have a clear story arc, a satisfying resolution, well-developed characters and a high standard of editing and presentation.

We also ask for exclusive original content in English - stories that readers will not be able to find anywhere else on the Internet, except The Ink Well and your personal Hive blog. This is so we can attract new readers with stunning, high-quality, unique stories.

The purpose of the Writing Prize is to create a showcase for audiences outside Hive and to bring new people to the Hive blockchain.

Submitting Entries

The Writing Prize is open to everyone, providing they meet the Rules of Entry and the Community Rules. The theme for the Writing Prize is "renewal" - writers may interpret this as they wish. There are four prizes: 1st - 250 Hive, 2nd - 125 Hive, 3rd - 75 Hive and 4th - 50 Hive.

Writers may submit one entry only.

Deadline for entries: Sunday 10 January 2021 at 21:00 UTC.

When you say:

"or include any other information apart from your story, an image and the declaration."

Are you referring to a normal footer in a post?

That's correct.

Oh my Jez! I think this is the most strict contest from TheInkWell community I have read so far since I started seeing their contest posts lol. I like the fact that the publication is needed in English only and without multiple images. I hope to keep a track of this contest and not miss out. Thank you The Ink Well

Yes, The Ink Well is emulating conventional literature prizes offered by Literature Councils and publishers.

Look forward to your entry!

Please check the Rules of Entry and remove the footer.
Tag @theinkwell in a reply to this comment when you have amended your submission.

Hi @zellypearl. Thank you for sharing your story for The Inkwell contest. Please replace your image with one that does not have a watermark. That indicates that it is under copyright by Getty Images. You can select an image from a license free site such as Pixabay, Pexels, or Unsplash, or use one of your own. Thank you!

Oh alright. I didn't know such images weren't allowed here either.
Thank you, I will change it right away

I wish my brain would open up for this 😪
