Scenery

Good morning guys, I would like to share with you my experience. I walk-through a village with my family, at first i felt too lazy for the adventure, but since everyone else seemed happy about it, i had no choice than to obliged.

The ride to the village was a silent and peaceful one. I was busy with my phone and only raised my head slightly when mom made a comment about a place we passed.

We arrived at the village, went straight to see the family we went to visit. We were offered bitter kola as kolanut (in this 21st century, i wondered?). Nevertheless we all ate it after receiveing eye contact from mom to it eat.

I wasn't there to exchange pleasantries, so my leg was itching to walk through the community. And from the look on my siblings face, i guess they too couldn't wait any longer. My mom took her time to gist with the woman of the house we visited, while my siblings and I were busy on our phone(waiting for the time to view the place). My mom and the woman wasn't saying anything of interest, so we didn't join in the conversation.

The long awaited moment(finally!!!). Mom and my elder brother took the lead alongside the woman who showed and took us round the community, the woman told us to keep the bitter kola in our mouth (reason still unknown) . I was trailing behind with my younger brother to get a better view of nature.

I guess i was the only one too carried away by the natural surrounding, because I couldn't stop talking about it. The air was so fresh and new compared to our resident. The plants were so greenish and alive.

We passed a flower bed and I was charmed and carried away by its beauty. I had to plucked one and place in on my hair.

While walking through the community, i noticed that i barely saw any house, the ones i saw were either under construction or uncompleted. I started wondering how people living there cope, because we barely saw anyone on the road.

Nevertheless I enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the tall tress, the grasses, the flowers, not excluding the natural atmospheric air.

I really had a wonderful time there, though I was bitten by a bug, which got my body irritated. I came to see and admire nature after a long while. Nature is awe inspiring

There is no 21st century when it comes to tradition like this. Bitter cola is what you must be welcome with in my village too. I acknowledge it when it comes that way.
I can see that you had a wonderful time there seeing the way you took the images of nature.

Don't you think those images are to be explained one after the other since it's a story?

@stone4 makes an excellent observation. In a writing community we don't show pictures. We make pictures with words. For every picture you showed, you could offer a brilliant scene, described.

Also you mention the bitter cola but don't explain why it was offered.

This piece started off really well. You were very specific about how you felt and your described your experience wonderfully. Then you fell silent and showed us pictures.

It's obvious you can write. We would like to see more of that here.

Thank you.

I enjoyed how you described the village walk. The part about the fresh air, green plants, and beautiful flowers stood out. It shows how nature can surprise us with peace and beauty, even when we least expect it.
