Orchids
- These beautiful flowers are Blood Stain Orchids. So named because the stains on their petals resemble blood stains.
- It’s a little dark or macabre to describe flowers this way, especially such pretty ones with this contrast of white and maroon.
- But humans like to make things interesting, so there you have it.
- Dark humor is an interesting genre in comedy and movies, my son likes it, me .. not so much.
- The world is dark enough, so when I am seeking entertainment I prefer comedy, happy films or educational ones telling me about a place I have never been, with sights, sounds and smells to excite my senses.
Port Wine Orchid
- The other name for these orchids is Port Wine stained Orchids. And as the name implies the purple spots resemble drops of Port Wine, which is usually dark red or maroon colored.
- I think that name is not so dark or macabre as Blood Stained Orchid, and even has a hint of fun and levity.
