False Prophets and Politics

I think one of his spies would—well, seem fairer and feel fouler, if you understand."
—Frodo to Strider, in The Fellowship of the Ring, by J.R.R. Tolkien

And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15 WEB)

This is why I do not trust politicians or televangelists. This is why I steer clear of popular movements like AntiFa, Black Lives Matter, and Q-Anon. False prophets abound, propaganda masquerades as news reporting, and the crowds flock to anyone who promises assurances of peace and prosperity in exchange for obedience.

Is the 2020 election an illegitimate fraud? Yes, but I don't care whether the votes were tallied properly, because that is irrelevant. I do not have the authority to rule you. You do not have the authority to rule me. Neither of us can rationally delegate authority we do not have in the first place to any third party by any process whatsoever.

Consent is the cornerstone of all legitimate human interaction, but politics is about coercion and compliance. Do as you are told. Pay what they demand. Papers please, comrade. If you break any arbitrary dictate, you will be extorted. If you resist this extortion, you will be kidnapped. If you resist kidnapping, you will be killed. As Edward Abbey said, "...These procedures are known as the Rule of Law."

Bickering over who should hold state power is a misdirection, and it perversely serves the interests of the political class to have us at one another's throats over such irrelevant arguments instead of questioning their claims to authority in the first place.

Freedom is a dangerous idea, but only because those who fear freedom will also hate you. Don't be swayed by their honeyed words as they seek to shackle you to their corpse god. They demand your body and your soul. Just remember, Caesar has no just claim to your allegiance, life, liberty, or property.
