Introduction

Finally got around to wrapping up the Community Challenge posts. The last quest is one of the most interesting ones in my opinion, trying to fit in 10 Legendaries and still have a coherent deck. Luckily, there are a lot of good Legendaries out there but how well would it do?

I spent the most time coming up with decks for this one, and I came out with 3 different decks: Midrange Nature, Control Deception, and Aggro Light.

However, as stated in my last post, I was travelling the weekend before this started so I didn’t have any time to test out the decks. At the end I just went with Aggro Light because it was most like my normal weekend deck, and I had most of the cards other than a Meteorite Deuteria.

The goal of this deck is to maintain the early presence of regular Aggro Light decks, but sprinkle in Legendaries where I can at the expense of some higher mana cards and buffs like Canonize and Highborn Knight. Balthazar, Deuteria, Nemean Lion, and Madame Denholm are pretty easy includes due to their stats to mana as well as board presence, not to mention that they all work with Asterius. I felt like this was a pretty decent deck although the lack of higher end cards might hurt if you don’t hit the buffs or get the board early.

So did the results support my thinking??

Unfortunately, since I wasn’t able to play on the weekend, I didn’t have the MMR buffer I needed, and losing my first 3 games after the 1350 MMR Weekend reset meant I dropped to Diamond and therefore basically out of the contest. I was able to salvage a 50% winrate (5 win) with this deck for my first 10 games, but after that I gave up because I wanted to climb back to Mythic before the weekend as my week was quite busy.

I really wish I got more of a chance with the deck! I think it could’ve done decently, considering that to be in the top 80 you only needed a 50% winrate. Oh well!

Quest Summary

Well this has been a fun 4 weeks of challenges! My favorite was probably this last one, even though I didn’t really get to see it all the way through. Trying to build the decks were fun, as well as playing with some funky ones that I probably wouldn’t have played with otherwise. I did the best with the first quest (5-mana and under) with 19 wins, but it wasn’t enough to make top 20. Definitely looking forward to more of this in the future!

It's nice to have "Kadmos", "Sern" and "Asterius" in my "light" deck, even though I have "Parthene Proscenium".
I hope to improve my deck by reviewing yours.👍👍👍

Parthene is definitely good in some decks like Control and maybe Midrange. Sern though is pretty good and goes in ALL Light decks!
